Our current laptop is running crazy slow. I am sure something is wrong with it, but it also seems it will cost $100's to simply diagnose and maybe fix it. It seems since it is several years old it may be best to just buy a new one. I don't need anything fancy other than ability to do emails and Microsoft Office software. Will not be used for gaming, streaming Netflix, etc….

Any recommendations on where to buy something from? Best But, Amazon, etc? It would be great to fix my old laptop, but not holding my breath. I believe the laptop is at least 6 or 7 years old.

I have time, I just don't know how to reinstall Windows 10. Is that a download? I'm ignorant on these things.

So windows 10 or 11 are usually pretty straightforward. Google is your friend for more complicated cases but for the most part you can just ask the computer to do a reset. If you store lots of things on the computer I'd look into saving them to a backup of some kind.

You can find reset in the Settings menu or in the login screen - look for windows recovery.

Oh and the reset is pretty quick, so I might try that first. Then if things aren't improved you can do the more involved "reinstall" or "clean install" options.
