Finally ordered myself an A1 Combo with this sale and a bunch of Sunlu filaments and accessories off Amazon to go with it. Ordered Monday and the A1 will be delivered Friday. Microcenter has price matched the sales if you want to save the 25-35 in shipping costs but they are selling out quick in Houston. The A1 Combo was already sold out Monday night and the sale started Monday morning. Sale goes through Dec 3 on Bambu Labs site. Bambu printers are easily the best for plug and play with top notch quality at all of their price points.

Got a P1S for my wife's home business and it's been really easy to learn and use. Very few issues and very beginner friendly.

Are these the printers that should just work with no tinkering?

Some people push the tinkering aspect to fully learn, but I have no time to do that and just want to make toys with my toddler.

Yes. Bambu Lab printers are probably the best you can get for an out-of-the-box printer that's just going to work.

The P1S is very tempting, but i already have too many printers...

Yes, very little needed to just print. Shouldn't take more than an hour to learn the basics of a print from youtube for any bambu labs printer.

Absolutely. I have a P1S and it's easy mode. I spend more time learning the design side and print settings because I never have to mess with hardware. If I'm printing someone else's model, then it typically already has great print settings and I literally just load and print.

Might as well reach out and see if they will make an exception. Worst they say is no.

I did.....they wouldn't budge. I even asked for some store credit thinking maybe they would be more likely to do that than a refund. Nope. Paid $1499 for the combo and now it's $1199. Oh well...who TF needs $300 anyway?

I've had a creality ender for a few years and has been a pain lately. My wife wants to 3D print some stuff and cannot use the printer we have. What would be a user friendly printer in the $300 range?

Bambu A1.

And i would recommend the extra $ for the ams lite. Buying the combo saves you $50.

Y'all won't regret it.

Also, if any of y'all are good at designing stuff, get involved with MakerWorld. It's Bambu's maker site that you can upload your designs and earn points. Those points can be used to buy filament, gift cards, and other stuff. I know a few people who have free printers from uploading designs, getting downloads and boosts, and then buying Bambu gift cards with them.

Recently picked up a Bambu Labs P1S as my Christmas gift from the wife. Been looking for a good CAD program to start learning so I can hit the ground running in 2 months.

Good review of a lot of the free ones.

Fusion 360 is what I use for precision CAD work. I use Blender for more freehand model stuff.

If I understand correctly, the resin printers can offer better resolution than filament printers, correct?

Resin is slower and harder to use but yes, the details are much better than a filament printer. Even when using a .2 nozzle, resin figurines on a resin printer had better, cleaner details than filament.

About halfway through my first major multicolor print with a 1100 filament changes. The flush pile is ridiculous.

Make sure to tune your flush amounts. Bambus 1.00 value is way way high and wastes a ton. I usually go with a .65 or .5 depending on what im printing. Also be sure to set flush to infill to on if you are not using clear filaments. Saves a lot of waste.

Another tip would be to see if you can split the model into printable sections or glueable on pieces for color changes to keep the base model to the lowest amount of filament changes.

You can also flush into an object. So, I'll add a little fidget, kid's toy, or an object that color doesn't matter to the plate and have it flush into the toy or object. It comes out all multicolor and kinda cool looking and it pretty much eliminates the poop.

There are tons of videos of different techniques for post print processing with a filament printer to make it look as good as a resin printer. Some will even sand a filament printer and then brush on resin to eliminate the layer lines and make it look completely smooth.

Thanks. I've done a few things to reduce the waste. I partly wanted to stress test it. I broke up the model some, but limited how many joints on purpose.

It was also a personal test on some detailed work on the CAD side for me, too.

This specific print is way outside my normal use case for my printers.

Yep, fidget toys are great for this on larger multi color prints.
