Getting great reviews....waiting on my PS5 Pro to arrive before playing it myself, but seems like a very faithful rendition and up there with other fantastic remakes like the Resident Evil series

Never played the originals but I'm a big fan of the RE series. Played the originals back in the day and I've played the remakes as well. I'm about to finish my 2nd paythrough of RE Village right now.

I'm assuming that I would enjoy this game as well, I should probably look into it.

Are the stories from 1 & 2 connected? I would probably need to watch a recap video of part 1 before playing 2.


EDIT: Nevermind... another paid Sony exclusive for PS5. Seriously screw those guys, this stuff is getting old. No worries, I'll just wait for the deal to run out and play it next year.

Yeah, this isn't a PS5 exclusive. It's on Steam.

Played the RE2(?) reboot and loved it up until the big dude in black who is invincible just stalks you throughout the game and you just have to run from him until you hopefully get away. And then as soon as you get away, he shows back up about 5 minutes later.

Hate that crap and hate games with timers. Refuse to participate.

The random stalker mechanic in both RE2 and RE3 was the same deal-breaker for me. The originals and the remakes were so top-tier and then this stupid disruptor element would pop up and just ruin the whole session, and ultimately experience, for me. I know some people like it. I hate it.

I should have clarified that it's a console exclusive for 1 year. I have an Xbox and a steam deck. I think the deck can run SH, but I'd prefer to play it on a tv at much higher settings than the deck can offer.

I played the SH HD remaster collection that came out back in 2010 or so, primarily to play SH2.

They did such a bad job with the remaster. Total mail in.
I didn't really enjoy SH2 on it. It aged poorly.

Hopefully this remake is better. I may give it a shot.

I don't understand the love for this game other than if it's purlelu for nostalgia.

I thought Silent Hill Shattered Memories was vastly superior in every way. That game is my favorite Silent Hill game.
