One of our TV's bit the dust last night. Gonna wait a couple weeks when tv's go on superbiwl sale. I need a 65. Is the LG C3 still recommended here? See some older threads. What about Samsung S90C? Comparably priced. Any others y'all would recommend?

I think the LG G3 (OLED65G3PUA) is the currently the best glass, but the Samsung QN65S90C and LG C3 are very very close and usually a good bit less expensive.

QD-OLED > OLED if you are in the market imo.

Don't sleep on the Hisense 65U8K - cheaper and can match the image quality of much more expensive tvs

Sony Bravia XR A95L. I went and looked at this vs the comparable LG and Samsung and the picture blew them away IMO due to the better processor . It also had a better menu guide and sound if that matters to you.

SEC network logo got burned into my LG OLED so I replaced it with a Samsung 85C. Picture isn't quite as good, but better than worrying about the TV getting ruined.

My first 1080p tv was a Bravia but I've never bought another one because they are always $1-3k more than anything else.

Agreed. It's currently a top 5 rated TV, priced liked the G3 but performs like a C3 or S90

Can't comment on the newer models, but I've had an lg oled for a few years now and been extremely pleased. The only thing I don't like is the OS and difficulty setting up smart features, but the picture and contrast are excellent, especially if you're into movies.

As soon as i got my C2 I hooked up an Apple TV. I never even touched WebOS.

We're all Roku right now but I might try the Google TV or aFireStick just to see if we like it better

The Firestick 4k max, newest edition is the best on the market for its price IMO. Especially with the ability to sideload android apps as needed. By far the best specs for the price and its extremely snappy and I personally like its interface the best vs Roku and the others.

I'm sure it is but it's out of budget for us. I'm leaning towards c3 right now.

Samsung features are tops THEN they go bust early on
SONY is forever and best quality/amazing but the newer "smart" features are beginning to need a navigator; designer pros only use SONY (Brava) quality for monitors

C3 sale .... https://rebrand.ly/3bv88t9

Sony is a good brand but it's just wildly incorrect to say "designer pros" only use Sony. Whatever that is trying to say, it's wrong.

Well I bought the c3. Found out my roku is out of date and need an upgrade. Tried the firestick but didn't like the interface. Gonna just upgrade the roku.

Samsungs are always first off my list since they don't do Dolby Vision. That along with the brands quality/customer support issues make them a no go. If you want QD-OLED then find the panel with a different brand like Sony.

I just bought a 77 c3. Picking it up tomorrow. I had. 2019 qled Samsung that has streaks in it. Can't see them during dark scenes, but when watching golf it's annoying and looks miserable. I'm staying away from Samsung going forward.

Can't wait to hook it up tomorrow

It is ! Anyone have a good link to calibration settings for this set ? I tried one I googled and it's a little off to me.

Biggest setting i always see off online for my taste is the cool vs warm setting. I always prefer a cool setting and hate the warm setting. Think it looks like absolute trash but that it what a lot of them default too.

This helped me a lot. I just set my 65 up in the last few days. I used this as a starting point and have made some tweaks.

To piggyback on this thread I too am looking at tvs. I can never get a Samsung TV again. My 2015 65" back lighting literally burned and has damaged the TV. The Klipsch s-4 sound bAR is pretty garbage as

I took am looking at an OLED. The costco C3 looks pretty good to me with the 5 year warranty prices in. Thoughts on getting tvs from Costco? How is the C3 or any OLED with hockey (the whites). Also we do not have cable and use an antenna. Anyone with experience using antenna with the C3 or another TV being sold on the market now?

Also looking to pair it with a decent sound bar. Any suggestions from personal experience?

Extended warranties are pretty very frequently through allstate nowadays. I think you're going to end up dealing with Costco for issues for the first 30 days, then it will go to the manufacturer for a year for parts and labor then you'll be dealing with costco/allstate.

I don't think you're going to see much difference dealing with an extended warranty provider wherever you buy the TV... For the times that you need to deal with the retailer, I would rather deal with Costco than most others.

As for bright white scenes, OLED isn't going to be as bright as QD-OLED or other QD-LED technologies, but in a reasonably light controlled room, it should be fine. I can't speak to that specifically. Most of my usage is movies where I really enjoy how dark the blacks can get and how little fringing there is around bright objects on dark backgrounds.

Would you go with the c3 if you have a very bright room? I can darken it, but we often have the shades open.

I was looking at the C3 but now I think I need to upgrade to the G3 or something higher. I don't have cable so I rely on antenna (and streaming) and so I'm looking for TVs with ATSC 3.0 TV tuner integrated into them. I'm only looking at Sony and LG. With my Samsung literally burning/melting on the back of my UN65JS8500

That's exactly what my 65 qled Samsung did. At about 3 years it looked just like that and started getting worse and became black in the middle.

Not buying one again.

The lg77c3 is great and looks incredible. The glare is much better
