I'm sure this has been discussed before so just point me to a good thread but was wondering what a good system out there is. Pet, car, person separated motion detection. I've looked at alarm.com and Uniview but didn't know what all was out there that was not chinese made.

There probably aren't any. Most consumer electronics are assembled in China.

Vivint is likely your best bet. It's owned by NRG so it has a Houston based parent company.

Other non-Chinese are Blink and Ring which are Amazon brands and Nest which is a Google brand.

You're not going to avoid anything Chinese made in consumer electronics for the most part.

If you want to record and have the ability to review footage when you're at home, you can look into a NVR system and it won't get stored in the cloud (which is more my concern). If you want to have access when you are away from home, it becomes more complicated.

Check out Nellys Security. They have a whole bunch of different cameras at different price ranges.

I have installed the $150 5 megapixel cameras at a home, a restaurant, and a business. They are all still working 4 years later.

Well, I did have 1 fail due to water and corrosion of the connector. It was installed in s tree over a driveway, so lots of weather abuse.

I have used their NVRs too and they are easy to setup, get online, web app, phone app, etc.

While tough to avoid all Chinese - do at least make sure they're NDAA compliant.
