This question should be a slam dunk for people way smarter than me on here.

I have my outdoor speakers going through a Sony STR-DH190 low end receiver used for playing music from my phone via Bluetooth.

Now I want to connect an outdoor TV so I can have audio. Direct wire is not an option for the tv. The current outdoor TV is a Roku and I can connect to the receiver through my iphone via BT and use the receiver and speakers to get audio, but the Roku app has been super spotty lately and randomly disconnecting. Also will probably be upgrading the tv to a non-Roku model in the near future.

My question is this: is there some sort of hardware I can buy to plug into the tv and the receiver to get audio via BT or Wi-Fi ? I've done some googling before I came to ask, but figured I can get better answers here.

Not sure I am following what you are tying to do. For my outdoor TV I have below connected to the TV and my wired speakers. I zipped tied it behind the TV cover. I connect my phone to it via Bluetooth to play music.

This may not be what you need, but Fosi makes a lot of various products. My unit has worked really well.

There's a decent chance your TV has 3.5mm audio out, look on Amazon for a 3.5mm bluetooth transmitter, something like this.

I have something like what Boy09 posted. I use it on my bedroom tov to transmit to Bluetooth earbuds so I do not disturb my wife, It should work with speakers.
***It's your money, not theIRS! (At least for a little while longer.)

This might work for you: Sonos Beam

Sonos Beam (Gen 2). The Compact Smart soundbar for TV, Music and More. (Black) https://a.co/d/7NcpeSW

I have the same basic set up as you. Yamaha receiver inside, Roku patio tv outside. I hooked up the Sonos sound bar to the Roku TV and absolutely love it.

First of all the sound is awesome. You can hook up to the Wi-Fi and the Yamaha and Sonos can stream the same music or even YouTubeTv controlled by my Apple phone. They can play different sources as well. Second, the Sonos will play whatever you hook up last. So I can play music outside while the TV shows a football game. That is cool for parties etc.

My Yamaha is also Wi-Fi capable, so that helps. It runs 7.1 zone one plus a 2 speaker bedroom zone 2.

Yamaha AVENTAGE RX-A1080 7.2-Channel Network A/V Receiver https://a.co/d/4Z2i9l3

I'm sold on Sonos.

All of this can be controlled with Air Play on the iPhone.

If I'm streaming music, I can control multiple outputs. If I select Patio, the music will stream outside through the Sonos as well as inside. Or the wife can stream her music inside and I can stream my own outside. It's too easy!
