I'm considering switching my family to Mint Mobile.

My credit card provides cell phone protection coverage, but the policy specifically refers to paying your "monthly bill" with the credit card. With Mint, you don't have a monthly bill.

Google gives me mixed answers on if the coverage will actually apply.

Anyone have real life experience filing this type of claim when you have Mint service?

Probably best to look up who your credit card uses for cell phone and insurance and call them to ask. For example, AMEX platinum uses AIG and my understanding is if you need a claim, AIG will ask for past couple months of bills as proof you paid with AMEX and they will accept Mint Mobile preloading or annual type bills.

That's exactly what I have.

Have you previously confirmed that with AIG? Or have you come across that online? I keep finding mixed answers... and I haven't come across anyone who's actually filed a claim.

Someone stated that in a AMEX platinum facebook group; never filed a claim nor do I have Mint Mobile
