I'll be trying some of these PCI tips. Hitting on this game has definitely been hard to excel at.

Yeah. I'm still learning a lot. Recognizing bad pitches earlier and not striking out as much. The Dodgers promoted me to AAA in April then called me up in May of my second season. At least they don't rely almost solely on me for offensive production. Their farm teams offenses were ass.

Trying a few of the other game modes lately too. Not a fan of "conquer." but the diamond dynasty and weekly challenges are fun.
America was built on speed, hot, nasty, badass speed.

Conquest is easy. It's a good way to rack up XP and get free packs. Sim all the games you can and play the strongholds. A good strategy is to capture all the territories through sim, then play the strongholds.

Make sure you put your TV in game mode. You need the response time, especially in higher levels. For PCI placement, I usually sit up and in, then adjust to the pitches. Also, players online like to hammer you with the fastball up and in. Another suggestion is to custom practice on legend to get your timing and location down. Then, when you play on lower levels, you will mash.

My 15 year old plays much more. He does the pinpoint pitching. That is pretty fun. I play road to show mostly. We have trout and ohtani.

I'm tempted to get this one after skipping the last couple years. How much of this game is microtransactions? I don't want to pay 70 bucks for a game and have to buy more crap to be able to play online.

Zero. You can build a competitive team with no money spent better than any other game out there.

Yep. I buy the deluxe version because I know I will play the hell out of it. The deluxe version basically got me a Mantle card and some stubs to start with -- kind of like a quick start pack. I also like the double daily cards. They can add up

Other than that, I don't spend any money on the game. SDS provides a lot of free content. You could start or playing the April program moments and start putting together a very competitive team. This isn't Madden where your are nickel and dimed to death just to put together a competitive team for online.

I've lost count on the number of diamond players I have and I have not spent a dime in game.

Don't waist stubs on packs. Spend stubs on buying individual cards.

You can also make a ton of stubs trading on the market if you have the time.

You can put together a pretty solid team just by playing the game and unlocking packs/cards along the way.

I've held off so far, but I'm kind of disappointed in this year's game.. The content hasn't been as good as 21, so far. Also, the way they are doing programs this year compared to previous years isn't as good. I miss the inning programs.

Also, I don't like what they have done to the market when it comes to minimums. Card flipping is a pain this year, unlike previous years.

I've earned up to the commentary, though it is very, very repetitive.

I will say though, the game play is great and fun. I still think The Show is the gold standard of sports games. This year though is not as good as others, imo.

I'm sure they will continue to improve it, and I'll still play.... A LOT.
