It depends on how many you need. I needed 4 and I linked mine up near the top of this thread. If you need one or two, I'd get some yagi antennas like these.

Let us know what speeds you are getting once it is set up.

I don't know how many I need, I'm pretty ignorant on this topic tbh.

Also, what does this antenna connect to, the modem?

This looks interesting because it says it supports wifi too so maybe I could point it at the RV HQ for a stronger signal.

T-Mobile 5G Internet Question- I'm dumb as stated in the topic line.

We received the T-Mobile 5G last Friday since we were moving I hadn't had a ton of time to truly mess with it. I moved it around various windows in the house and wasn't getting above 2 bars. It was every slow if it would stay connected.

The best tower that I've found on the websites posted above is due west of our house. Problem with that is the garage is on the west side of the house and there isn't a west facing window.

Last night I took the Gateway to the far west wall in the garage and was getting speeds of around 30mbps inside the garage.

I took it outside on the west side of the house and plugged it in then ran 5 speed tests, I got 87, 74, 36, 27, and 97mbps with it sitting on the ground.

Questions are:
1. It appears it works fine in our location based on the speeds I was getting but not in the house with the way the house is laid out. I've found this in regards to external antennas: T-Mobile High Speed 5G Internet Gateway External Antenna Guide based on the speeds I was getting outside of the house is there any reason that wouldn't work? Suggestions?

2. Also, the gateway we received from T-Mobile is a cubed shape versus the circular version I see on the internet, any reason to think the antennas wouldn't work with the different style of gateway?

3. Gateway shows it's rated for 23F-115f (somewhere around there, don't have the specs in front of me) so I'm assuming I could leave it in the garage with a fan during the summer and it will be ok? I understand not ideal but not sure what my other options would be.

4. I'll need to get that signal to the far end of the house and upstairs. I've read some about mesh systems and I'm assuming that's the best route. Does anyone have any suggestions on one that works well with the T-Mobile gateway?

TLDR: T-Mobile 5G gateway works better outside of the house, will the external antennas work and suggestions on a mesh system to get the signal to the far side of the house?

Here's a guy that did exactly that. I did not watch it, but you should get a MUCH better signal if it is anything like the hotspots I have had. Try to get it up high on the house. Mine is on my roof.

Most mesh systems work pretty well. I'd probably go with the Eero WiFi 6 one, but there are a lot of choices.

Is there a risk if monthly data usage is 600gb to 1tb?

If you are doing the IMEI change, then yes, there could be a risk of having your service cut off. They could find a way to close the loop hole or they might find your usage "excessive". On the boards that I follow, it seems very rare that anyone gets cut off for excessive use. When it does happen, it seems like it is normally a tablet plan and not a phone line plan.

I have not had mine cut off and I do not know of anyone I have helped being cut off. I have used over 1TB of data a few times and one of my neighbors is constantly at about 1TB.

Guessing you meant 1 TB / month?
