How long do you want to ignore this user?
I have watched a bunch of Youtube videos on this and people say to do different things. Most people say to log in to AT&T router and do the following:

1.) Turn off packet filtering
2.) Turn off all firewall options in the "advanced firewall" menu
3.) Select "passthrough", select "DHCPS-Fixed", and enter the EERO MAC ID
4.) Turn off both the 2.4Ghz and 5Ghz AT&T wifi radios

Some people don't say to turn off the packet filtering and the options under "Advanced Firewall".

Is the full above 1-4 sequence the correct thing to do? Thanks in advance.

I just recently setup an EERO system in my home via Suddenlink new WiFi 6 router that Suddenlink is using. I didn't do any of those steps and it works great. I have the newest EERO 6 mesh system with 4 units spread around the house. I connected one of the EERO base units to the Suddenlink router via an Ethernet cable and started WiFi broadcast from that point. I also have my new house wired with Ethernet plates at all TV locations as well, which is being run off the EERO base that is connected to the switch in the AV closet to distribute the Ethernet feed via cables.

Disclaimer, I don't have AT&T, but do know a lot about networking and slept at a Holiday Inn Express last night. All of those steps make sense to me. They basically transfer all routing, firewall, and wifi functions to your eero which is fine.

Just make sure you don't enable Bridge mode on the eero if you enable all of those settings on the AT&T box.

I have a Surfboard modem/router and Orbi wifi.

1) turn off Wi-Fi's on modem.
2) set Orbi to bridge mode.

So the primary Orbi and a 20 port switch are plugged into the modem. The switch serves all my wired devices.

I suspect that these disparate setups serve the same purpose? I'm always eager to learn more.

All, thanks for the replies. In regards to leaving the AT&T modem/router alone and setting up the EEROs in bridge mode, does that work just as well? That seems like a less invasive thing to do.

It is much easier to just do that one setting at least with my Orbi setup. Surely yours is just the same thing different branding.

Mine works perfectly and i didn't have to do all that complicated stuff.

OK, went to the EERO website and did a little more reading on setting the EEROs in bridge mode. It does seem that you lose some features like automatic channel selection. So, maybe it is better to try to set the ATT router to passthrough.

Is it ATT Fiber or regular internet?

It's just copper/DSL. No fiber in my neighborhood. 25 down / 5 up is the best I can get. Works good enough to stream HD video, we we are fine with it.

Thanks! Yes, EERO kit should be here tomorrow. Going to give it a shot.

Just got the two EEROs installed. Did the steps to the ATT router. So far, I am very impressed. Getting full paid-for speed a few rooms away in my makeshift office room. Hopefully Teams meetings work Ok with it as well (no glitch issues….).

So what are your thoughts on the Eero 6+ pro with the same ATT gateway? I just ordered the Eero's after my Orbi finally failed. Main difference is I have fiber. Debating setting the Eero vs BGW210 in bridge mode.
