More intrigued by the Elder Scrolls mobile game.

Looks like the rumors about fallout 76 were true. Fans of the previous Bethesda fallouts should not be expecting the same lore heavy immersive game world in this one it seems.

I kinda get the opposite impression. I feel like it is more likely to appeal than I previously thought. Granted, an online game isn't going to have the same narrative focus as a single player RPG but it looks to have more lore in it than I would have thought.

By my estimation this was easily the best Bethesda conference ever. I thought Fallout 76 looked awesome, and I skipped FO4. Y'all all got the message that there's not a gigantic amount of people on any server at any given time, right? Hopefully being always online means it's like Destiny where there's a shared world, and not like games where you visit a friend's game but don't make any real progress for your own.

It's cool that Bethesda have once again done an "and it's available this year!" like they did with FO4, but the timing is pretty terrible coming just a couple weeks after Red Dead 2. I assume RDR2 and whatever form its online takes will dominate my gaming time for at least a couple months.

The only thing that seems weird is that he said you can join your friend's server and take all of your stuff. Does that mean your base, too? Does it just appear in the same place on your friend's map? What if someone already has something there, does it just roll up and you move it somewhere else?

I have so many questions about leveling, questing, clans/factions, the loot system, and everything else. Obviously no more VATS. I think I'm going to get this one for the PC for the first time. I've been Xbox up until now. This will give me a reason to get a new computer.

And the space game was not even given a 2019 date.

And a few weeks ago he was quoted as they had just begun on it, which means 3+ years of dev still to go

Have you played Fallout New Vegas? It's supposed to be the best of the Bethsoft FOs. I'm still trying to finish FO3.

Yep, play FO3, FO NV, and FO4. Those games are really good, FO4 is probably my least favorite of those 3. FO3 is what really brought me back into gaming.

Sadly it looks like that kind of Fallout game is no more, or at least not for maybe another 7-10 years. Let's hope Bethesda didn't sell all of their soul and still are making a great single player elder scrolls game.

I actually don't like the hybrid FPS/VATS system that tries to cater to shooter fans and tactical planners but does neither well. I loved the tactical combat of Fallout 1. I'm kind of excited about them dumping VATS and committing to a combat system in 76.

As I've said elsewhere, playing Mad Max made me realize I really want a third-person action/adventure Fallout game.

2. Closer December release means it will be on A LOT of letters to Santa.

Nope, not yet.... I guess because it's a xbox 360 game? I think I'm going to give it a shot though if were just skipping the next Fallout game.

I need to play Witcher 3 as well. I love the open world format but not into fantasy games. Also I'm scared of falling into that rabbit hole and being addicted for hours a day. I was going to do it for the next fallout game but not if it's a multiplayer game.

Definitely give NV a shot. It's really good. You can play it on the xbox one, and I believe that it was only like $13 at Wal-Mart when I was there the other day.

I don't get the backlash over the online bit. I'm super stoked to be able to play this with buddies on PC. But I'm a sucker for the dynamic content online sandboxes offer. Some great moments can't be scripted.

I guess I don't understand the "play solo but still online" bit? Why is that bad?

Aside: New Vegas was great because the dialogue wasn't limited by voice acting. I know it's the way things are done now with AAA games but I'd pick large conversation trees with real consequences over having to stay within the confines of limited voice acted lines every time.

I think people want a real narrative and to impact the world, which is really not that doable in an online multiplayer game.
