So I just did a little more reading, and it looks like they slashed cheated mons that were caught before the update. If that's right, that's awesome!

Good.....

Cheaters should never win. Unfortunately they do in some instances, but we should crack down as much as possible.

They should just ban accounts with spoofed mons...

I actually think making the cheated mons non-usable while leaving the account usable is actually better. It's a constant reminder to them that they can't use their stuff.

The only thing that would make it better is retroactively taking away XP. But that would require tracking every mon they've transferred in the past.

Gyms are live!

Trying out new gyms and already being overwhelmed by spoofers. Winning a battle only knocks 200CP off of a Pokemon so you're in a neverending battle with 3000CP Blisseys. Joy.

So, one has to beat a 2000cp poke 10 times, to knock that one poke out?

And that's IF they aren't feeding the Pokemon berries (which add 6CP per berry) as you battle

Seriously, gyms are somehow even worse. The only improvement is that you can get items now.

I'm in 8 gyms now.

I don't like not being able to add because the gym is "under attack." Most of the time it's not and it's someone just interacting with it.

Haven't battled yet, but I assume it's the same.

Imo the gym system took a step backwards. I think they'll need to revamp it.

Got two pokecoins for taking two gyms and they held for an hour. Reward doesn't seem worth the potion loss.

Long term gyms being held will pay out much more (24 coins per full day instead of 10), but simply getting in is not rewarded much (1 instead of 10). The object here is longevity, but it must be balanced with turnover. It pays to heal your poke and team, but only if you eventually let go. Interesting concept.

You can also motivate the pokes in front of you, so attacking with a team can be strategic. If someone leads with their blissey, others can drop in a snorlax, then a vape, and others after that. The first ones will soften attacking teams, with the remainders finishing them off. The first ones can be easily motivated and healed to create a wall. Or, the reverse can be true. Stack with big attackers to deal damage as weaken attaching tabs and let a tank like blissey or snorlax finish the fight. It'll be interesting to see what the balance comes to.

I think berries add at different rates. I only gave out some nanabs, but I think they gave more than 6.

Raids are available to lvl 35+

So close! Only 250k away!

Okay so the Spoofers around here took over every gym, but I spent some time knocking out and taking over the one closest to my apartment. Took about 30 minutes to bring it down, and the game was doing its best to stop me from doing so (either random "network errors" or the GPS moving me 50 yards away). Some random observations:

- It gets much easier once the Pokemon have been defeated a time or two, since their CP drops. By the end it took about 2-3 moves to knock Pokemon out
- Pokemon types matter. Seriously, my Vape knocked out a Tyranitar in a few moves, I had a Cloyster dominate a Dragonite, etc. Makes for a much better battling experience
- There are tons of glitches with HP being restored, Special Move power vanishing, etc. Hopefully they get this sorted out soon

Interesting. I only tried the regular berries since I horde my Pinaps and trash my Nanabs, but I'll experiment with them

Hopefully you guys loaded up on ice Pokmon last week. Probably can expect a dragonite at every gym.

At level 28, gyms are just a waste of time. I can't really compete in my area. I tried last night and it's as pointless. So many errors with the new system.
ABATTBQ11
How long do you want to ignore this user?
I take it back. Berries add motivation, but it's cut in half after each new one. My first ones added 600+, but subsequent ones added half of the previous amount. I'm sure a team could heal a gym pretty quick.
ABATTBQ11
How long do you want to ignore this user?
These glitches aren't new. I've had them for a long time. I can't tell you how often I'll dodge a charge move only to be hit by with the full damage and have a poke knocked out, then get stuck in a loop of pokes switching in and out because it realizes that my poke in fact wasn't knocked out but then says it actually was. All the while, both are taking damage until I can switch out of the loop.

While strong type effectiveness is nice, it also means defending is nearly impossible. Everything can be easily defeated by something except blissey and snorlax.
bankshot11
How long do you want to ignore this user?
Blissey and Snorlax are weak against fighting Pokemon
ABATTBQ11
How long do you want to ignore this user?
Everything is weak against something, but those two have the fewest counters and the highest HP. They can also have psychic attacks that counter their only weakness. Even though fighting types are strong against them, they're still not as effective a counter as electric vs water or water vs fire. Fighting moves are still effective, but they lose out on STAB without poke typing.

So, how to the gym payouts work now? I see no option to cash in on my gyms.

Just had a Dragonite return with 99 coins. Seems like they come back with coins from all your defenders up to 100 per day.
Also heard that defenders with >3000cp decay at 10% per hour. 2999cp or less decay at 1% per hour.

So, if my mon gets evicted, as a consolation prize I get coins for time spent defending. Up to 100 coins per mon?

And now stardust comes from feeding berries to my mons and others?
Ranger222
How long do you want to ignore this user?
you can also get candy from feeding berries. So if you feed a Blissey, you can get Chansey candy.

I've taken a total of 5 gyms so far, and currently only have 2 mons in them with 3 returned. Most after an hour or so. I have one Tyranitar I put in immediately yesterday afternoon and is approaching 24 hours held. The problem is gyms filling up fast -- this morning there were still some gyms with 2-3 mons in them, but now everything is full. The only option is to take gyms down if you want to place a mon into one, you really can't join a gym that your team has unless you catch it at exactly the right time. I know the raids will eventually help with the gym turnover, but for right now I can see this being a stagnant system.
Ranger222
How long do you want to ignore this user?
And the gym payout is supposed to be 1 coin per hour held.

24 hours a day x 6 defender pokemon max = 144 poke coin cap per day

Just changed to 1 coin every 10 minutes

How long do you want to ignore this user?
So I get Chansey candy for feeding berries to a Blissey or Chansey. Does it matter any if they are mine or another on my team? If I load 6 berries into my Blissey, do I get 6 candies? Sorry so many questions.

How long do you want to ignore this user?
Bag space can now be >1000. Don't know the new max, if any.
ABATTBQ11
How long do you want to ignore this user?
I think defenders return after raids...

Coins are now 1 per 10 minutes, but you're capped at 50 coins per day, which is bull****. A single poke in a gym for 8 hours and 20 minutes will hit the cap, and it is half the previous cap.

Is anyone else lose having issues with the app starting over every time you switch to another app and back? I know I *****ed about it earlier but I was trying to switch back and forth between the app and the IV calculator or to go to the next song on my playlist and every time it would restart, which also takes a lot longer now.I just said screw it and closed it out. This might be it for me.
ABATTBQ11
How long do you want to ignore this user?
That happens to me occasionally, but not often. What pisses me off is the location locking up after I exit a gym menu. I can get to everything else, but my avatar won't move and I can't zoom in or rotate the map sometimes after I exit a gym. Only a restart will fix it.
ABATTBQ11
How long do you want to ignore this user?
I'm also seeing more than the regular gym glitches. Now the defender can't seem to calculate damage. It's nearly impossible to fight in gyms.

Seriously, why can't niantic test this stuff? It's like they role out alpha tests as a finished product and just try to fix it all later. I can't think of anyone with a worse track record of development cycles. Even MS gets it right every other release. Niantic had never rolled out anything other than gen II without it being a huge **** up.
