How long do you want to ignore this user?
I'm sure this topic has been discussed previously but I'm looking for 'updated' info/feedback..

We are about to move into a new house and currently have directv. For internet, we have xfinity. Overall, I'm very pleased with the speeds we get. I love the directv picture quality but it has become too expensive. To get out of my contract, I will have to pay a $100 ETF.

Now my questions to those uverse and xfinity TV subscribers:

How's the picture quality? How's the X1 platform? What's your monthly cost?

Thanks!

Just moved from Direct to xFinity. Did so because after the two years we were paying almost 220 a month for that and internet. We had nothing special and they would not work with us. Moved to xFinity and now have a sports package, all the movie channels, and home phone with a locked in 24 month rate. We are paying slightly less, and the internet seems to be faster than what I was getting with ATT.

The platform is a little different. I liked how they put the channels on direct and that they were all together. Here is just seems like they put all the numbers in a hat and played bingo to set up the channels. We have a lot more on demand shows, and with the new package we have a lot more movies that we can watch at anytime. I did not save much, but am happier with the results.

The X1 platform is overhyped in my opinion. I have it, and it's VERY meh. Sure the interface is more modern looking, but it's also pretty slow and l*ggy and unintuitive. If the price difference isn't drastic, i would probably go with uverse.

I'm waiting for my uverse contract to expire so I can go back to xfinity for what it's worth.
