I'm hoping to pick it up today, but I'm baffled that MM is a jumbled, random mess. Everyone thought that you'd be able to first select your game, then gametype. Here's a post from the Waypoint forums which pretty much sums it up. Hopefully they will patch this.
"I thought it would be set out like the campaign menu - choose a game you want to play, choose one of their playlists, all the same as the original game's playlists, and off ya go, no needing to worry about if
you'll get put into a game of Halo 2 when your intention was to play Halo 3. Would that not have been easier? I was looking forward to bouncing around Big Team, Slayer, Swat and Team Snipers, or social
variants, on Halo 3. What I got was, choosing big team and getting put into a Halo 2 match (of 6v4, but
that's for another thread), going down to Swat only to find you've not even put Halo 3 into that playlist and that Halo 4 is there. There is also no Team Snipers to speak of, at all.Very disappointing. I was so looking forward to playing all the Halo 3 game types I used to play, on the maps I used to play them on.
This hybrid mashing together of the different games, which all play differently, is
not what I was looking for. PLEASE say you're going to change the format of multiplayer. If it helps, if you
turn on a 360, stick Halo 3 in, go to matchmaking and have a look through the playlists there, those are the gems I was looking for."
