I do like the trackball. I've grown fond of it on the Hero for clicking really small links (such as the page numbers on this thread) and it has a flash.

Supersonic, however, has a larger screen, wimax (but thats useless unless you are in a wimax covered area...houston still isn't yet but will be later this year)

If you are not on wimax, you just jump back on 3G EVDO...so not bad either way.

But I am bathed in Wimax glory...what do I care!

If I can wait till October 1st, I can get a partial discount (maybe 75 bucks) on a new sprint phone since I got my hero this past october.

EDIT: The hero is 479 off sprints website. Has 230 instant savings with a new plan (meaning id have to wait to october to be eligible for a similar savings) and a mail in rebate worth 100. Is there any mail in rebate for nexus on other carriers? Well even still if I can get a couple hundred knocked off, that is significant and if it comes out to about 600 for a new phone, minus 200 savings, minus 150 for my hero, thats only $250 out of pocket.

My hero is in awesome condition since its been coddled like a baby, has a good case and an invisible shield.

When I look at this ebay auction, a used hero is selling for about $150. I wonder if I can get more for mine if I offer in the auction a choice between sending it to them rooted (like it is now) or wiped clean. Depends on the buyer I suppose.

It also wouldnt be terrible (though I'd be lusting for it) if I had to wait 7 months. By that time, firmware kinks will have been worked out and surely the XDA folks will have figured out how to root it.

1st, remember that after 5 months of service with Sprint and paying a plan of $69.99 or more you become a Sprint Premier customer. This allows for 1-year upgrades, not the normal 2-year upgrade.

As for me? I have a wife on T-mo going month to month. When the Supersonic comes out, I am going to flip her to Sprint. I'll take the SS and she will get my Hero!

I will have to check that out. I'm on my family's plan because its far far cheaper that way per person though our monthly total bill is way north of 70. I'll look into how the 'premiere' customer applies to that.

Just talked with customer service. Apparently if its a family plan, the primary line is the only premiere customer. Got the number to the department that can switch what line is the primary number which does not affect billing/access/etc so its no difference at all.

October 1st can't come soon enough! if i can wait that long

Looks like AT&T is not going to subsidize the N1 in any fashion like T-mo did. Do you think VZ and Sprint will follow suite?

I know in Sprint's case, they love to preload their phones with Sprint apps. Guess if they can't/won't be doing that for the N1, then you are going to pay retail for the phone.

As for the Supersonic...what are y'alls guesses on price (on contract/off contract)

2.1 in april for hero

i haven't been this blueballed since the 8th grade sock hop

Don't get me wrong...I want 2.1 on the Hero, but what does it do other than give us the "geek" factor back? Live wallpapers will be absent or chug the 528 qualcomm that every hero owner turns them off (do they even work with Sense UI?)

I really want Google Nav, but still wondering what Sprint will do with their current nav app. NFL is gone to verizon, Sprint TV is worthless.

All I can really think of other than a new look and some tweaks to Android is an updated market and an actual working youtube app.

atm, like ive said throughout this thread...i am really hungry for a better photo album app. everytime i ask, no one has any recommendations. 2.1 is supposed to improve this much.

And the youtube thing is also annoying. Theres also the voice to text stuff as well, and hopefully just other minor fixes to improve overall performance.

and also theres plenty of apps that only work with 1.6+ that hero users can't get
