Comcast HDTV box...Your EXPLORER settop is NOT AUTHORIZED for use

How long do you want to ignore this user?
Fiance is on the phone with Comcast now. They already replaced the box once this week. Started to receive this message the day they installed internet phone. Any ideas? Comcast seems unable to figure it out.

My Mom had the same message (I think) a couple of weeks ago. I told her to unplug the box (not just turn it off) for a few minutes and then plug it back in and wait for it to reboot. Has worked fine since then.

I get this occasionally, maybe once a month. Either unplug, or just push the reboot key sequence (on my SA4250 I think its info, volume up, and volume down at the same time). It will power off and reboot. Do NOT try to turn it and use it until the time displays...this can take anywhere from a few seconds to a half hour or more (usually around 5-10 min for me). Not turning it on til you see the time is key (for me anyway).
