Unfortunately this is all a management question. Can Demeco push hard enough - or does he push at all - to get the GM and owner to replace Stroud by convincing them that a decent vet, fewer injuries, and his defense can win a SB next year?

The only time I remember a Houston team bailing on its incumbent QB was trading Pastorini for Ken Stabler, and I was 5 years old when that happened.

I would put Deshaun Watson in that category on incumbent QBs we bailed on.....

Dolphins, Cardinals face challenges in Tua Tagovailoa, Kyler Murray trades

i wouldn't trade for Tua because he seems one big hit away from just dying on the field but Kyler, despite also making lots of dumb decisions, could at least run the ball in situations where CJ prefers a 3- yard fumble pass to TJ Watt.

Well yes, but I meant for bad play on the field, not for demanding a trade and refusing to play and all the off-the-field stuff.
