The chasm being beating the chargers at home and beating the chiefs on the road is like 50 grand canyons. The texans would need a turnover free game where they knock down mahomes a ton and rush for 200+ yards to have a chance. None of that seems likely.

Yep they've got one receiver that's healthy and any good, and an OL who struggles in most things they do.

The defense is going to have to win this game if the Texans have a chance in hell, and Stroud is going to have to okay the game of his life.

None of these things are likely. KC is favored by 8.

Stroud will have to tuck and run or even plan some runs to beat them. Basically be the low-rent model of Buffalo and/or Baltimore's plan to play ball control against KC.

I think the line is about right for the Texans, but the odds I need to get to take the Texans to win would be astronomical.

This is me too. When the astros were in the NL I hoped for a rangers-astros worlds series every year. I'd love to do the same for the cowboys-Texans, the Texans as a franchise are so vanilla though, it's just not compelling to cheer them on. They haven't been part of any epic playoff games. They've never had a franchise qb that is must watch tv (stroud could be the answer, but it will take some years to get there). They've been around for 20 years now, but have they made any noise beyond JJ watt and Andre Johnson calling Houston home? Just tough to get excited to root for them

As a long-time Cowboys fan that realizes that Jerry has no idea what he is doing leading a football team, if Houston and Washington were to make the championship games, they'd make only Cleveland and Miami as teams that have longer championship game appearances in the NFL than Dallas, which only makes the Dallas collapse of the last 29 years more pathetic. Its like we have reverted to the mean, since Dallas played in 16 of the first 30 league championship games of the Super Bowl era.

I mean, yeah, this fall was a bit down, but the year cycle ending last summer saw the Cowboys in the playoffs, the Stars in the conference finals, the Mavs in the NBA Finals, and the Rangers win the World Series.
