I had a chance to interview former 49ers OL Eric Heitman at various points in his playing career from HS to the pros. In 05 I went to niners training camp and was interviewing him after practice and asked him if his high school memories were still something he talked about. The old Florida QB Ken Dorseywas at the next locker and heard the question and says, " That's all he talks about! Katy Tiger this, Katy Tiger that!"
Years later I asked Andre Johnson the same thing when I saw him at a high school game and he said most guys are more proud of their high school team accomplishment than college or the pros because that's whe the game is the most pure - you and the guys you gre up with, not everybody recruited and/or paid.
