From what I saw the receiver was not covering the lineman up. He was at least 2-3feet back which automatically makes the last guy have to declare

Maybe so. I'm assuming that if 70 and the wideout were both off the line, it would have been legal, but idk if they would've had enough men on the line.
Looked like a flag football play, but the refs got it right. Not a hard call once they had a chance to see it.

It was illegal formation AND illegal touching. Also illegal man downfield as well if you really want to get technical.

Isn't illegal touching also loss of down? Think that's what it's called but when the wide receiver goes out of bounds, then is the first to touch it.

Fans do not have to be objective.
One other point worth mentioning is that the DET penalty was for 5 yards, but the DAL penalty was for 3.5 yards. Made a huge difference on the final throw.

I understand that Dan Campbell went for the 2-point conversion to try to win in regulation, but he probably should have gone for the game-tying extra point and taken it to overtime after the ineligible receiver penalty wiped out the 2-point conversion. As a result, the Dallas Cowboys are the only team to finish undefeated 8-0 at home and have extended their home winning streak to 16 games.

Now I'm not sure about where everyone was lined up, but the bottom line is that 68 was covered. Period. Illegal.
