Alright, boys, I hope everyone was able to snag a dub in week one! If not, it's time to retool and get back at it in week two!

Some hot waiver options:
QB:
-Jordan Love, he cooked this week. Finished top-5 and could potentially be a full-season starter for fantasy.
-Anthony Richardson, if he is out there in any leagues. The dude was legit! He ran the ball ten times for 40 yards and a tuddy and was pretty efficient through the air with 223 yards and a TD through the air.

RB:
-Kyren Williams out-snapped Akers 26-4 in the first half and finished the game with 65% of team snaps to Akers's 35%; it seemed like Akers's usage went up once it became clear that the Rams had the game in the bag. Williams finished with 52 yards on 15 attempts, one reception on two targets, and two touchdowns.
-Kenneth Gainwell dominated the Eagles' backfield with 14 carries for 54 yards and four receptions on four targets for 20 yards.
-Tyler Allgeier had 75 yards on 15 attempts, three receptions on as many targets for 19 yards, and two touchdowns. The Falcons will run the ball a ton, and it looks like he will remain involved despite Bijan being much better than him.
-Justice Hill/Gus Edwards are both options, with JK Dobbins tearing his Achilles (rip). I think this will be a gross committee, and if you are playing these guys, you are likely praying for a touchdown. I could also see them bringing in Fournette or Hunt.
-Joshua Kelley was heavily involved in a shootout. He finished with 91 yards on 16 attempts and a touchdown. If he continues splitting time with Ekeler and receiving this much work, he could be valuable.

WR:
-Puka Nacua finished with ten receptions on 15 targets, good for 119 yards. That type of volume is incredibly intriguing.
-Jakobi Meyers saw ten targets; he caught nine for 91 yards and two touchdowns.
-Kendrick Bourne had six receptions on 11 targets and finished with 64 yards and two touchdowns.
-Rashee Rice had three receptions on five targets for 29 yards and a touchdown. Given the void in the WR room in KC, he could be interesting.

TE:
-Luke Musgrave had three receptions on four targets and 50 yards. He came close to scoring a couple of times and looks like a decent option, given the wasteland at TE.
-Sam LaPorta caught all five of his targets for 39 yardsthe same thing as Musgrave.
-Zach Ertz saw ten targets; he only caught five of them for 21 yards, but that target volume can't be ignored.

Who are you guys targeting? What % of FAAB are you throwing at these guys?

pasting some of my posts from the week 1 start/sit thread:

Quote:

PPR people: some week 1 target leaders less than 60% owned in yahoo to consider:

WRs
Puka Nacua, 6% (rostered), 15 (targets week 1) - esp if Kupp goes to IR, nab him up
Kendrick Borne, 2%, 11
Nico Collins, 55%, 11
Jakobi Meyers, 50%, 10
Robert Woods, 4%, 10
Tutu Atwell, 3%, 8
Allen Robinson II, 2%, 8 (dionte johnson exiting w a hammy + Freiermuth exiting with a chest injury may increase his role even more)

TEs:
Zach Ertz, 5% (rostered), 10 (targets week 1)
Logan Thomas, 2%, 8
Jake Ferguson, 38%, 7
Durham Smythe, 0%, 7
Hayden Hurst, 11%, 7
Kylen Granson, 0%, 6
Hunter Henry, 16%, 6
edit to add more commentary for Allen Robinson re: Freiermuth also exiting

So coming off of week 1, is there really a must grab guy? Tyler Allgeier if he's available?
there are some promising waiver adds after week 1, but depending on whether you want to drop your waiver priority already, whether you have IR spots available in your league to stash an injured player temporarily, or you're ready to dump someone you drafted after 1 week, not sure if it's worth it.

If you drafted JK Dobbins, you're setting a waiver claim for sure and if you really need a RB, there are guys that might help for a bit: Algeire is still going to be very involved at least for a while between the tackles until Bijan is fully ramped up. Kyren looked a lot better than Akers for the Rams. Chargers seem intent on keeping Ekeler more balanced and using Kelley even in a close game. Bears looked bad, but gave their rookie Roshon a lot of work in the passing game behind Khalil (only 5 carries, but 7 targets and a TD). I would stay away and not play a guessing game for what the Ravens backfield will look like, but at least in week 2, Gus Edwards or Justice Hill will pick it up.

TE is a mess, but I posted above... there are little-owned TEs like Ertz who still got 10 targets in week 1 and Logan Thomas got more targets than both Dotson and McLaurin in week 1.

WR: look at my post above- there 5 or so guys who got 10 or more targets who are little-owned. If you drafted someone like Odell Beckham Jr, you can probably swap him out.

Good post. Of the RBs, I think Kyren Williams has the most intrigue. He out-snapped Akers 26-4 in the first half and didn't lose much work to him until garbage time...Akers just isn't good after the Achilles tear. I assume that means Dobbins's career is over too.

I am sure Allgeier remains involved all year, but his role diminishes as Bijan gets more established.

I think Kelley is interesting, but I am curious to see how he looks against better run defenses...he has been so bad in the NFL up to this point.

Roschon Johnson got most of his work in garbage time; I think it is pretty clear he is behind Khalil Herbert and D'Onta Foreman right now.

I agree with your point on the Ravens' RBs...They will be good some weeks, but I don't see them being consistent options.

i have lower waiver priority in both leagues, but i have put a claim in to add Kyren and drop Charbonnet in one league. probably won't go through, but worth a try.

I'm not the commissioner and have no experience with FAAB. Open to it for next year though.

Don't be afraid to drop a bag on someone that you are set on. Guys like Garrett Wilson and Kenneth Walker were league winners last year off waivers.

Also, a lot of guys bid in 5s and 10s, so bid unique numbers.

is the Rams RB room just gonna be the next Darrell Henderson/Sony Michel iteration? haven't had a reliable option there since Todd Gurley retired

in my PPR league I ended up going super RB heavy (since we can start 4 with double flex) after grabbing Tyreek 6th, but he had to carry the team with most of them underperforming:

Jacobs and Rhamondre- never got much going in lower scoring games but can't worry too much given pedigrees
Aaron Jones- balled out but left 3Q due to (hopefully precautionary) hamstring
Mostert- gamescript didn't give him heavy workload, but came close to getting multiple additional scoring opportunities
0
outside of those I'm just stashing JT- which was the main purpose of pairing with the late Mostert pick- also have Achane, so thinking just to ride out this crew til hopefully getting another RB1/2 in a few wks

could use more help at WR but don't quite see any of the wk 1 flashes jumping out as demanding a waiver burn yet, behind Tyreek I have Hopkins, Hollywood, Flowers, JuJu, Mims, Hyatt- suppose the last 3 could be expendable for the high target getters but would that be just chasing performance

maybe to a fault even in PPR I prefer (dual threat) RBs at flex for more reliability, outside of the 1st 3 rounds or so WRs tend to be less consistent. But how and how soon should I get Flowers into this lineup (Jacobs/Rhamondre/Tyreek/Hopkins/AJones/Mostert starting currently)

Looking to upgrade at WR, but hoping not to pick up a one hit wonder.
We don't have a waiver, we can pickup/drop players at anytime.

WR (available):
- Kendrick Bourne
- TuTu Atwell,
- Jakobi Meyers
- Rashee Rice
- Romeo Doubs

Bench (to drop):
- Achane
- Burks
- Gabe Davis

Bonus:
- My QB is Fields. Love, Stafford, and R. Wilson are available, should I pick up some insurance?

Debating waiver burn for Puka who's route running looked a lot like Kupp who's return is very uncertain altogether

2 leagues which I went RB heavy early

PPR with 2WR 2Flx (will start 4RB most wks out of Jacobs, Rhamondre, AJones, Mostert, JT, Achane) - #4 waiver
Hill, Hopkins, Hollywood, Flowers, Juju, Mims, Hyatt
Will try to claim him for one of the last 3 given PPR value

Standard with 3WR 1Flx - #1 waiver
Deebo, Hopkins, Jeudy, Thomas, Hyatt
Def need more depth here but leaning towards saving the waiver since this league always has at least 1 or 2 wtf drops per season that are no brainer top waiver burns, plus again my RBs (Chubb, Saquon, Rhamondre, Zeke, Kamara) should be able to shoulder the load awhile

RB room's pretty weak but was able to snag Trevor Lawrence late to pair with Joe Brrrr. Thought on pursuing trade with guy in my league with Saquan and Josh Jacobs with only Justin Fields for his QBs. Was thinking of pairing Lawrence and a bench WR (have Nico Collins and Jahan Dotson) for Jacobs and a bench WR.

If another player trades Josh Jacobs for Trevor Lawrence and a fringe WR3/4 guy then all the power to you. I personally would be furious to see such a trade go through. That is in the intelligence insulting level of offer.

Bench one, PPR:

Garrett Wilson @DAL
Chris Olave @CAR
DeAndre Hopkins vs LAC

I'm thinking Garrett losing his QB and going to play at that Dallas defense that ate the giants means I start DHop instead in week 2. Dhop had 13 targets to Wilson's 5 in week 1, and TEN should be in shootout playing from behind vs chargers, but there's also risk of Tannehill being replaced by Willis.

I'm in a weird but good situation this week. I've got #1 waiver priority.

RB is my strong group on my team with pollard and bjian. WR is a pretty glaring weakness.

I am trying to decide between picking up Puka or Kyren Williams. Whoever I pick up will be my flex. Any suggestions? RB's imo are usually more consistent, but Puka's # of targets is hard to ignore. Just curious if it is more of a one off.

I have #1 priority in my waivers this week. As a Bijan owner, I'm torn between adding Allgeier, Gainwell, or Kyren Williams. PPR league.

I don't see me ever starting both Bijan and Allgeier but if one went down, it would be nice to have the other. Or do I target a potential #1 back in Gainwell or Kyren?

WR is my weak group (and I have some injuries)...I have Deebo, Mike Williams, Hopkins, Jeudy, Smith-Nijba and Kupp on IR...should I attempt to use my #2 waiver priority for Jakobi Meyers, Kendrick Bourne, or Puka? Or just stand pat? I could drop either Smith-Njiba or Achane

Kyren and Puka are both speculative adds for different reasons and either one is gamble for potential ROS flex

Kyren could continue splitting with Akers or could takeover as a work horse. Remains to be seen.

Chasing Puka's 15 targets in week 1 could be chasing Kupp's fantasy volume for ROS, or for just a few weeks if Kupp returns, and then again those targets could move more towards Van, Atwell, and Higbee in week 2.

Allgeier is a good handcuff to stash if you have the bench space, but not sure if he's worth #1 priority.

Also not sure I trust Gainwell's usage in week 1 as an ROS indicator vs Swift and Penny and now Gainwell is questionable with a rib injury.

I think if I'm using #1 priority this week, I'd use it on Kyren as he's the most likely ROS takeover, IMO

who is most drop-able?

Zach Charbonnet
Jaxon Smith-Njigba
Courtland Sutton
Brandin Cooks

other WRs are:
JJ, Olave, DHop (+ the above 3)

other RBs are:
Miles Sanders, Alex Mattison, James Cook, Alvin Kamara (+ Charbonnet)

Charbonnet was 3rd string behind DeeJay Dallas in week 1, but I think he'll be working his way in a lot more as the season goes on based on how high they drafted him and he'll be a good handcuff if anything happens with Walker. Njigba is 3rd wr option, but already getting volume just weeks after a wrist surgery he's got loads of potential. Sutton is on a bad team but did get a TD in week 1. Cooks role in Dallas's offense should be great, but not much doing in week 1.

I would stay put. Who are you targeting on the waivers?

Nvm just saw your other post. Kyren?

Flip a coin between JSN and Cooks I guess, but I would hate to let either go just after this week.

yep that's a bit too literal a definition of a "fantasy" trade

u do realize Lawrence outscored Fields by about 1pt right, and Fields still has way more value

Jacobs led the league in rushing last yr, Lawrence might get you like a Rachaad White or Javonte Williams, if that owner has like Geno/Dak

shockingly, Zay Flowers went undrafted in this league somehow. It could change as they get Mark Andrews back, but I loved his usage in week 1 and was going to chase that.. thinking Flowers would be a better rookie WR to hold than Njigba.. but then again... maybe Charbonnet will be worthless all season or maybe Sutton once Jeudy comes back.. broncos's washed up QB pisses me off- not sure if sean payton arrival helped

Yea I would probably take Zay over JSN now ROS. But, that could be wrong. Cooks is tough to drop because that game script was so whacky and not normal. I would flip a coin between JSN and Sutton, but would probably be easier to drop Sutton and grab him back later maybe. JSN will immediately get added by someone else.

I think I would go ahead and grab Allgeier

the Falcon's schedule is very soft

they will be running the ball a lot each week, because of weak opponents

and of course Allgeier is injury and fumble protection for Bijan

Flowers absolutely should not be avail went 9th ish round in all my leagues made sure to prioritize him in ppr, and after that blowup don't assume you can just pick him up without top priority or like 30%+

I would use it on Kyren or Gainwell; I would rather maximize my opportunity for upside than try to mitigate the risk of injury...odds are if Bijan goes down, Allgeier will be less efficient anyway, IMO.

ugh. I cant decide who I should pick up. Puka, or Gainwell? My brain tells me Puka because my WR talent is lacking on my team, but the second guesser in me says if you can pick up the starting rb on a top offense you do it since WR points are often boom or bust?

ugh

ETA the rb's on my bench suck. the WR's in my starting lineup are trash though. Godwin is my #1 and it looks like Zay flowers is the #2 on my team.
