Unless you have a Mahomes/Brady type the reality is the NFL in the cap era is about making the playoffs as often as you can and waiting for the year when everything falls your way. If you look at most of the SB champs in the last 30 years, you'll find it is mostly trans quarterbacked by all time greats or teams that has a good/great year and had a lot of luck in the playoffs. Getting to play backup QBs, freak weather games that neutered superior teams, crazy bounces that let them win games they otherwise would have lost, etc.
Single elimination playoff formats in leagues with so little difference between teams involves so much luck that you just have to keep knocking on the door again and again and again. Like it or not. Your other option is to find on of the 1-2 transcend QBs per generation.
Remember, Dan Marino, Peyton Manning, Steve Young and Brett Favre won a COMBINED three titles across 30 years with their original franchises.
