OL, DL and LB have to be our three biggest needs going into this offseason and next year. Smith and Martin could retire tomorrow and we'd be up ****s creek without a paddle. On top of that, Martin has finally taken a step back imo. Still a good guard, but not the best anymore, and there's likely 2/3/4 better in the league at this time (he's not bad though). Biadasz is also a pretty middle of the pack center who's contract is up soon.
On Steele, I would be curious to see what they would do with him if the Cowboys were able to get a more prototypical tackle in the draft or even in free agency. Steele's biggest limitation is that he's just not as athletic as your typical tackle (even though he has the size), and he hasn't been since day one. However, he's a really good run blocker with a good attitude for finishing blocks. Say Martin hangs it up this offseason and they go out and draft a more prototypical athletic tackle in the late first or early in the second. Would Steele make more sense moving into guard and asking him to be a giant road grader?
I think you have to, have to, have to address OL early in the draft again this year, and the good news is that this draft looks really good and I could see teams really talking themselves into a QB, WR, TE, CB etc., so good lineman could fall to us.
