Corum is a low center of gravity bowling ball. Those guys typically don't have much of a place in the modern NFL. Now he's better pass catcher than most backs of his style, but I think at best he'll carve out a niche situations role for himself. Donovan Edwards is the better pro prospect IMO.

I know…. He's not special at any one thing but he produces and he plays hard. I love those guys

Corum reminds me of MJD. Would love to grab him in the middle rounds if possible.

Only reason I brought it up was I saw a recent mock with him to Dallas in the second. To me he looks like a plodder but I love his TDs. After watching Pollard puss out on the goal line this is a guy we could use.

This game on Sunday is the biggest game of the Dak Prescott era.
This is a legacy game.....and fortunately for him its a team they should beat. The downside is that the game is on the road against a longtime division rival.

There is a ton at stake if the Cowboys win on Sunday. One of the hallmarks of the Romo era were all of these losses to division opponents the last week of the season.
The season finale's I'm talking about are the season finales in 2008, 2009, 2011, 2012 and 2013.

The Cowboys did beat the Eagles in 2009 to win the division, but the rest of those games were losses.
If the Cowboys would have won more of those games then we are looking at Romo's legacy in a totally different light.

Awesome chart, thanks for posting.

To sum it up... if the Packers win, they are in along with the Rams. This is by far the absolute best case scenario for the Cowboys (assuming we hold onto the #2 seed). I would definitely prefer to play GB, but it's iffy because LA plays SF... no idea if SF plans on resting key starters or not.

If GB loses (Chicago has been playing pretty good ball lately) then we most likely play Seattle again. No thanks! For one, I'd much rather play a team we haven't played yet... and for two, Seattle is a MUCH more dangerous team than GB.

So, we should all be Packer fans this weekend!

my ass is clinched for the rest of the way no matter what.

Its the cowboys in the playoffs. I have bad memories of GB and SEA, and anything can happen in the NFL. 1

It depends on what the 49ers do. Any scenario where LA loses and GB wins means we play LA.

If SF rests a bunch of guys it's likely we play GB or Seattle.

Pretty cool chart. There's a lot still up in the air.

Cowboys scenarios according to WFAA:

Quote:

No. 2 seed:
  • Cowboys beat the Commanders
  • Cowboys lose to the Commanders, Eagles lose to Giants, Lions lose to Vikings
No. 3 seed:
  • Cowboys lose to the Commanders, Eagles lose to Giants, Lions beat Vikings
No. 5 seed:
  • Cowboys lose to the Commanders, Eagles beat the Giants

Dallas cannot clinch the No. 1 seed after the San Francisco 49ers beat the Commanders on Sunday. Even if the Niners lose in Week 18 and the Cowboys win, both teams would be 12-5 and San Francisco has the head-to-head tiebreaker over Dallas because San Francisco beat Dallas 42-10 in Week 5.

I think Corum has a lot more going on then you are giving him credit for. He changes directions without losing speed, and he is great at reading/setting up his blocks. Those are both things that translate well to the NFL, and a lot of RBs take a while to really learn (or never do).
I dont think Id take him with a high pick, just becuase the knee injury seems to have hurt his top end speed so you lose that "take it to the house" long runs.
But 3rd rd, Id consider it.

I don't see why SF would play any of their starters. At least their stars. They are set.

Without knowing the contract implications, sure. He's a very good player and should be pretty fresh.

They're gonna have a bye week, so two weeks off would let guys get rusty

Id play starters first half.

I would absolutely pursue Cook…Pollard needs to go back to being the change-of-pace guy…

Wouldn't mind at all if he kicked inside to G and could be the swing OT. Could be your #6 guy instead of Bass or Edoga.

Do you really think Cook would come in right now... without knowing the playbook or anything else... and replace Pollard as the #1 back???

He's averaging 3.2 ypc this season and lost 2 fumbles in only 67 carries. I don't care if the Jets were trash, that's really really bad production. (Pollard at 4.0 ypc and only 1 fumble in 235 carries).

The only reason to go after Cook is if Rico can't go and we need another vet RB. Otherwise, it's just chasing a name because he's not better than what we already have on the roster.

I heard some people say that Bass played pretty well and is showing some good signs at being a guy you want to keep around.

Edoga was our problem child. If Collins could also play OG for us, that would give us some decent OT/OG depth & options if injuries become a problem.

I'd like to think that Collins can still play and help you and that his release from Cincy was more about not living up to his contract. But I know that they were glad to get rid of him so who knows.

Bass has been pretty damn good. Edoga is a problem.

Yeah, I Bass is def solid and will make a solid player for us. Agree swing OT is the issue.

Obligatory when discussing Dalvin Cook and the Dallas Cowboys. One of my favorite Dono plays.

Just adding on to the RB stuff... Pollard is NOT a bad RB and he isn't washed yet. He's not as dynamic as his pre-injury self last year, but he's still a very productive and reliable back.

If you look at all of his rushing numbers (ypc, TDs, fumbles) he's right in line with Saquan, Henry, Etienne, Mixon, Najee Harris... very solid top 5-15 range of RBs.

He hasn't given us the 50+ yard breakaways that he did last year, but I think a lot of us... including me sometimes... forget about how he still frequently gets us the nice 15-20 yard runs.
Freddygattelaro
How long do you want to ignore this user?
If he did that often he would have more than 1 100+ yard game this year

If he did it more often he'd be CMC, and nobody here is claiming that.

You should also mention in your stats that he's only had 20 or more carries 3 times this year. He'd have more 100 yard games if we force fed him the ball. I'm very glad we are NOT... we are a throw 1st team and the running game just needs to complement that.

Agreed. If we add a running back we need a bruiser. Where is Marion the Barbarian when you need him?

NFL issued a video to teams today explaining the check in rule and used the Dallas-Detroit game as an example. Very clear and shows how Detroit screwed the pooch.

How long do you want to ignore this user?
I agree. I took tons of grief on Twitter over the weekend because I have the position that it does appear the ref made a mistake but so many are losing their mind about how Detroit got robbed and how they don't have to own at least a portion of the blame. I mean Dan fully admitted they are sowing deception. That was the whole point of sending three guys at the ref was to muddy the water. Well, they accomplished what they were trying to do. It just so happens that the ref got caught up in the deception, too.
