No idea how they pay everyone and keep a competent roster on the field.

Every competitive team has to deal with this in some form. the 49ers will eventually have ti pay deebo, CMC, Aiyuk, PURDY (Franchise QB???), etc.

We'll just restructure Tyron Smith's deal for the 11th time and pro-rate his signing bonus till 2040 or some crap like that!

you know I'm probably speaking too soon, but if you've been keeping up with the advanced metrics, Tyron is one of the best left tackles in the league right now

Looking at OverTheCap, looks like you can designate Gallup, LVE, and DLaw as post-6/1 releases and save a little over 21 million against the cap. DLaw I would try to restructure. I think he's a glue guy on the defense and those guys are crucial.

Woods Ag wants to win. Idgaf about the rest. I've been adamant that paying Dak top dollar isn't a recipe for winning.

Let him keep playing like this and I'll change my mind.

Our running game is terrible. We need our defense and Dak to win. And Dak is playing better than he ever has. It's awesome to see. I hope he keeps it up.

Dallas needs to get a true 3 down back this offseason. I love pollard but he's not a workhorse like Zeke

The lifespan of these running backs is so short. Zekes was 3 years before he was just a dude. A lot of that was his lack of work ethic, but you're right we need a real bellcow back.

Derrick Henry at the deadline and this team is super scary. Henry is what the cowboys need to beat the 49ers. A physical, between thr tackles, mule.

Greenlaw is a physical freak and a psycopath. Warner is a supreme athlete with elite speed. Their defense beats us with speed. We have to be more physical and I think the way to beat them is physicality straight up the middle.

You can see Tony Pollard trying to be that guy. He launches himself into the hole, but he has no ass behind it. No pop, no drive.

I wouldn't even call it a bell cow. They just simply need a change of pace back in the opposite direction. Someone who can come in for three or four plays in a row and punish you running down hill. Gone are the days of the "bell cow" back, reserve McCaffrey. He's the most unique back I've ever seen.

I mean for SF. I think the recipe for beating them is being able to run the ball straight up the middle. A power run game might be the best way to beat them. You don't have time to pass on them so while their CBs might be their weak spot, you don't have time to really get at them. Their LBers and Safeties are great, but the LBers are speed guys, at least Warner is.. I think the best strat against them is to pound the middle, wear out Warner having to step up and make hits.

By bell cow back I meant a good physical back. Poor choice of words.

You don't beat elite NFL defenses by running up the middle. You beat them with elite QB/WR play and winning individual matchups on the outside.

Maybe in general or historically. I think SF is built to beat specifically that. QBs/WRs and speed.

I also wanted Henry. We also could have picked up Deante Foreman at any point. We didn't so this is what we have this season. Dowdle has some size. I've also been wondering why they haven't given Lipke more looks. He was VERY productive in college.

Minnesota and Cincinnati beat them by turning over Purdy and torching them through the air.

SF has given up the fewest yards rushing in the league, the second fewest rushing TDs and the 4th fewest YOC. You aren't beating them by slamming your head against a wall.

The teams that have beaten them the last couple years, generally speaking, have forced turnovers and thrown the ball extremely efficiently with high YPA. The reality is they are so good right now that you really do need turnovers to realistically beat them. Their offense is too efficient and will put up 30+ guaranteed without giveaways. At their best this is probably the best team the league has seen since at least the 2015 Panthers. An offense and defense that good at the same time is rare.

Where have you been? Dak has played like this his whole career when healthy. I can't fathom why people think he is having some kind of break-out season. He is just back to his norm after having an average season last year.

You're right. You have to force turnovers to beat them.

I just look at that defensive roster and the weakest spot is DT. Warner and Greenlaw can chase down anything to the outside and can cover like maniacs.

They're so dang impressive.

Dowdle needs more touches for sure.

Looking at their wins and losses. They don't get tested alot with a running attack. Cleveland and Cincinatti ran the ball against them. I guess Cinci ran and threw.

PFF RDEF grades for the DTs
Armstead - 59.8
Hargrave - 53.8
Kinlaw - 48.7
Givens - 42.6

Their 4 defensive linemen are pass rushers. Their linebackers are fast as hell and cover sideline to sideline.. They want you to drop back and pass.

DE RDEF
Bosa - 83.8
Young - 56
Ferrell - 53.6
Jackson - 38.9
Gregory - 57.6

LB RDEF
Warner - 91.6
Greenlaw - 71.4

I don't know if he's better with the run right at him or away. I'd suspect away from him, but he's the only defender on the line worth anything against the run. The linebackers are another story, but make them have to hit 300+ dudes every play followed by a RB that's punishing them and 230lb Warner/Greenlaw has to wear down, right? Warner does look the like predator, but I have to think he's got some human to him. Greenlaw is just a psychopath, I think.. That dude you want on your side bc he's ride or die no matter what.

Agree to disagree. I'm smacking on some fresh, homemade venison sausage from a 60 yard bow shot I made recently. You can't mess with me this morning.

He's playing great. Let's leave it at that.

I think if you can make the 49ers offense one dimensional, by limiting CMC to 2 yard gains, then you might have a chance. Like others have said, you absolutely have to get turnovers, and 3 & outs. To me, as a coach back in the day, a 3 & out is as good as a turnover.

We almost beat this team in the playoffs last year with far less talent and no Tony Pollard on offense and Kellen Moore calling the plays.

Our defense was up to the task and it can do it again. If we can keep their offense from doing whatever they want whenever they want (which they have done to teams this year) it should be a heckuva game.

That Niner butt kicking was what this team needed. The offensive game plan in particular has been really tight ever since the bye. I do think the Niners still should be the favorites over anyone when healthy. It's crazy though, it seems like if they are just missing one of their key guys they become a completely different team.

This is shaping up nicely for the Cowboys IMO. They have a challenging run of games to end the season and they are currently playing well. If they win out they will be very battle tested and Dak will probably win the MVP. If they stumble in one or two of these games then they'll get another lesson on what to improve on while there will be zero expectations for playoff success.

Definitely very curious to see how we play against Philly & Buffalo. It's not so much about the wins/losses, but we've all watched enough Cowboy games to know when they are on their game and when something isn't right.

Part of me is chalking up the craziness of the Seattle game to tired legs. 3 games in 12 days is a lot and I think the play of both defenses showed how gassed both teams were.

We'll have more rest than Philly and they have to travel... really hoping to see a good showing and victory against them Sunday night!

If the Cowboys run the table somehow and go 5-0 I honestly believe there isn't anyone they couldn't beat, home or on the road.

He truly is a once in a generation type of player. It's sad for him and us fans that a solid chunk of his prime was stolen away by injuries.

If they run the table they'll have beaten three of the seven legitimate Super Bowl contenders, and they are one of the other four. Of course it means they could anyone.

Now that being said it would still take an exceptionally good game from them even by their standards to beat San Francisco, but in single format elimination anything can happen.
