Another way to look at it is, 6 out of 7 teams will be playing the first week. We were unlikely to get the bye anyway, so a road game against an under achieving NFC South team is a good start.

More distance in records for the wild card, which would only be helped by a win against them next week at home. A win next week would also give the cowboys their first win over a team with a winning record.

My FIL has a theory that with Diggs going down so soon before that game it threw the team off completely, and they weren't mentally there for the game.

Could be. Bland was not good that game either, but got much better after that. The offense also looked and played nothing like it has since after the bye.

The next five games will go along way for the cowboys. If they go 3-2 or even 4-1, and beat the Eagles in particular, they will garner a lot more belief that they can actually do something in the playoffs this year. Also, if Dak continues to play this well down the stretch, I absolutely believe he'll get MVP votes.

With all that being said, San Fran looks like the best team in the NFL and it's not close imo. They look like as good a team as I can remember in recent memory.

Also can't forget that our offense went up and down the field on them but stalled in the Redzone. And all of that was done without 3/5 of our oline or Brandon Cooks.

We win that game, even with a bad defense, if the injury bug hadn't decimated our team.

Beat down was so bad yesterday Washington fired Del Rio and the DB coach.

I am very worried about playing the Cowboys this Thursday. A few weeks ago I thought my Hawks had a chance. Well now I am hoping we don't get run out of the building. Geno is trash but I felt the team and game plan could protect the QB. Dallas is just too good at home. I'll be there cheering my team but this feels like a game where Dallas puts a hurting on the Hawks. I sure hope we draft a qb soon.

Happy to say I agree with you. The Cowboys are playing as good as anyone right now and Seattle is just trying to hang on. But I'm looking forward to playing a team with a decent pulse.
