Yeah, from 2020 forward, it's been a weird ride for this dude. Covid washed out his 2020. He enters the 2021 draft extremely raw. Hand fracture in preseason 2021 stunts him. Then ankle fracture in 2nd game of 2022 stunts him further.
Sure was FCS, but his 2019 stats as a redshirt fish are insane. You can't tell me a guy who completed nearly 70% of his passes with 28 TDs and 0 INTs has no chance to find his way. Get healthy. Get time to develop without the pressure of a talented team desperately needing a starting qb. See what happens. It's a 4th.

Low risk, high reward. At worst, he'll be a decent back-up even if he's a 3rd stringer. And if he fully develops, we got someone to take over for Dak down the line.
He got drafted 3rd for a reason - he has the talent and tools to succeed in this league. He just need some time to develop and see what his ceiling is at. And I think a 4th rounder is worth it to find out what he can become.

Are they only serving distilled water in the QB rooms at North Dakota State? How do they have so many brittle boneded athletic QBs?
At a minimum he develops enough to get traded for a higher pick down the road. This is an asset play. Daknisnt going anywhere and this move has zero impact on any negotiations.

He makes some good points and comparisons. Success for QBs in the NFL isn't just about talent but also finding the right fit. I heard someone else say that they didn't feel like Lance fit Shanahan's offense very well. Would love to see him do well in Dallas.

Yep. The more I read, the more I like this deal. Dak is 30 and I just realized cooper is 30 also. It's clear Grier doesn't have much so you need a young kid to throw in the mix.

This kid is slow, has a terrible throwing motion, no experience in college or the pros

Back to football. Trey Lance has all the A+ tools you looks for in an nfl QB. This is nothing more than a lottery ticket (like Dak). If it works the cowboys are geniuses, if it doesn't then who cares. It's definitely worth a shot.

The product is pretty terrible. The cheesy "go cowboys!" Amateur hour broadcast with the laundry list of sponsors getting their shout outs to the old washed up people with ties to the cowboys who they let call the games. Nobody trying to win. Just boring.
Looking forward to the games that count with good professional broadcasts like NBC and fox. I don't hate fox anymore now that buck / Aikman are gone. They did too many of our games.
