Just got off my weekly appearance on Texans Radio, and I’ll tell you what I told them: We got to see the Texans’ new uniforms today, and I think they’re spectacular. The unveiling for fans will be at the draft.

Texans are the Texans not the Oilers. Wish they'd get away from that and create their own identity. The majority of Texan fans weren't even alive when the Oilers were here.

Feels like we could have done better than that. Should have at least picked up a third round pick somewhere
This tells me the first pick is a WR. With how deep they are in this draft, I don't hate waiting this year and loading up on picks. Roster is in a good place already, and you're now getting 3 picks in the first two rounds in 2025.

I am good with it, I think the Texans have done well with FA and they drafted well last year. They have 2 picks in the second round this year and moved 50 spots up in day 3. Next year they will have 2 picks in the second round again, which presumably will be a higher pick…

One thing on that trade is it saves you about $1M in cap space. Wonder if that's to help squeeze a little more room for another free agent.
If we're targeting WR and CB in the first half of draft then this is a good trade since there isn't a huge talent gap between the bottom of the first and the entire second round thanks to the insane depth in this class. So if that's the target then it's getting an extra 2nd next year while drafting a player at about the same talent level as our pick at #23. If we don't end up drafting WR and CB in the 2nd round, then it's a head scratcher.
