So who are you pushing down the depth chart to bring in the WR2 you say we need to draft?

Just to clarify I consider Dell as WR3 just because of his size and role in the offense, when I refer to WR2 I'm just talking about a WR larger than Dell that can be on the opposite side of the field from Collins, he's clearly WR2 in terms of talent and ability. Looking for someone that's an improvement over Noah Brown, Robert Woods, John Metchie III, and Xavier Hutchinson. Those 4 WR's combined for 1241 yards, Collins had more than those 4 combined. They also only scored 3 TD's between them compared to 8 for Collins, 7 for Dell, and 5 for Schultz. Brown scored as many receiving TD's as Andrew Beck, 2.dcaggie04 said:

The reality is we're probably going to have issues with roles and opportunities regardless who we bring in. There's only so many passes to go around no matter how many players there are. Our supposed #2 and #3 receivers put up numbers as good or better than #1s and #2s in other offenses.Cartographer said:
Aren't Aiyuk and Nico essentially the same player in this offense?
Well hopefully someone tells them. I'm sure they've never thought of that.Texan_Aggie said:
I think more important than the pieces on the OL is the attitude/philosophy of the OL. If they can begin to get more interested in pushing back the DL instead of going backwards, that would help more than the addition or any one or two players.
This would be the best case scenario. The guy lost out on his rookie season because he was fighting cancer. If he has a great offseason I'd love it if he became that guy. By all accounts he's a good man. I believe he had teammates visiting him and other patients in the hospital. I think he still goes back there to visit IIRC. I know he's brought families from there to games. If he becomes the player that we all hope he can be it would just be incredible considering what he's overcome.3 Toed Pete said:
I know you can't go into the season counting on it, but I'm hoping Metchie puts it all together this year and delivers on his potential. Still need to add someone more proven.

His false start problem is a liability.

That's exactly the point - if he is mediocre in run blocking ad the others follow his lead, that's why we're where we are.
I don't know if our current personnel would fit zone scheme, but it can't be worse than what we did this year.
Eventful week for CJ Stroud

Vince Young 2.0
He had some impressive moments during his rookie year, Richardson was the lottery ticket QB in last year's draft. Physically gifted but with limited experience. Historically, college experience is one of the biggest determinants of NFL success. Guys with one year of starting experience are much less likely to become successful. Vince Young didn't have that problem. I'm not rooting against the guy by any means but the odds aren't in his favor or the Colts. Stroud, Young, and Levis all had way more experience than Richardson coming into the draft. The other issue is that his season ending injury was to his throwing shoulder, which is the worst part of the body for a QB to get hurt. Cam Newton suffered a tear vs a significant sprain to his throwing shoulder IIRC, but he was never the same player after that injury.IrishAg said:100% minus the early success that young hadMr.Bond said:

Here's a crazy thing for everyone on Richardson, he had only 1 game in his rookie season where he took every snap and didn't get injured (against the Rams).
1st game vs Jags, knee injury
2nd game vs us, concussion
3rd game vs Bal, still out with concussion
4th game vs Rams, made it the whole way.....yay
5th game vs Titans, AC joint injury and out for the rest of the year
That's insane for a guy that is billed as a large sized run first QB.
No clue why anyone would have big expectations on him for next year. Cautiously optimistic that this year was a fluke and waiting to be pleasantly surprised I could see, but people expecting him to lead the colts to the playoffs are more than delusional.

I wouldn't put it past them either but the reason I have more doubts about them doing it is they were sitting at 11 and Indy was there at 4. Stroud was a consensus top pick in the draft, regardless of the S2. Whether or not it was Indy it did help us because the big rumor around Carolina's choice of Young was that Tepper believed Stroud might be stupid because of the S2 test.cc10106 said:
I was thinking TN leaked it, but that wouldn't surprise me either. I'm sure both teams greatly coveted Stroud.
