We're watching at neighbor's Super Bowl party. They're huge Chiefs fans, so we're pulling for KC. But also because I hate Philly, and would love to see them lose a Super Bowl within 4 months of losing the World Series!
1) On paper it's the Eagles, they have a better overall team with more depth, but if I was a gambler I'd say it's the Chiefs. Mahomes is still not a guy I'd bet against. Even with the talent in the Philly defense KC has Kelce who is almost impossible to eliminate as a weapon. Even with a superior offensive line I don't know how Philly can eliminate the problem that is Chris Jones.
Ironically I think the Eagles best chance is in a high scoring game because of their ability to get the ball to so many different players. I think if they can get the Chiefs playing on their heels they can get tired, even though it means Mahomes will have to air it out playing from behind. If it's a low scoring game then that means KC's comparatively weaker defense has put a cap on Philly, in a low scoring game Mahomes is a nightmare to have on the field.
2) No idea if we're watching at the house or going somewhere.
3) I'm rooting for Philly, but only due to schadenfreude. I live in the STL area and this place is definition of fair weather sports fandom. I don't have anything against KC, I have it against all the people over here who found it so easy to move on from the Rams to become diehard Chiefs fans. I never considered becoming a Cowboys fan when the Oilers left. Also, if the Eagles win the Cowboys fans will hate it. I can only revel in others' misery. But at the end of the day I really don't care who wins, I just hope it's a fun game.
