Because I was at my cousin's wedding and the reception, I did not watch either game live. However, I recorded the New York Giants vs Philadelphia Eagles game and watched the second half of that game. I knew the Eagles would win by double digits but I did not expect a 38-7 blowout. As a result, the Eagles have advanced to the NFC Championship Game for the first time since winning the Super Bowl in 2017 and extended their home winning streak against the Giants to 10 games.
Duirng my return flight from San Jose to Austin, I will be watching the Dallas Cowboys vs San Francisco 49ers game. I am expecting a close game between Cowboys and the 49ers, and I predict the 49ers will beat the Cowboys 31-24. The winner of this game will travel to Philadelphia for the NFC Championship Game.
Unlike last year, both No. 1 seeds Kansas City Chiefs and Philadelphia Eagles advance to host their respective conference championship games. Of course, if the Buffalo Bills beat the Cincinnati Bengals, the Bills and Chiefs will play the AFC Championship Game at a neutral site in Atlanta. I won't be surprised if the Chiefs and Eagles face off in the Super Bowl. If that happens, this would be the just the 14th time between two No. 1 seeds in 49 Super Bowls since the NFL implemented playoff seeding during the 1975 season.

1. The 49ers will be playing their 3rd straight home game and have not had to travel since playing at Las Vegas on 1/1. In contrast, the Cowboys will be playing their 4th straight road game.
2. By playing the first game of the Wildcard Round, the 49ers get extra 52 hours of rest over the Cowboys.
I am a die hard 49ers fan, and I am expecting a close game. I think the NFL should get rid of the Monday Night Football playoff game because it reduces fairness and competetive balance. The Wildcard Round should consist of 3 games on Saturday and 3 games on Sunday.
However, it could have been worse for the Dallas Cowboys. If the Minnesota Vikings had beaten the New York Giants at home, the Vikings would have traveled to the Bay Area, and the Cowboys would have traveled to Philadelphia. That means the Cowboys would have played an Eagles team that was coming off a first round bye and had not traveled since playing at Dallas on Christmas Eve. In that scenario, the Eagles would have had even greater rest advantage over the Cowboys than the 49ers do.
Get rid of Monday night for the playoffs and move the Super Bowl to Saturday.
The ironic thing is that the Cowboys are the victims of their own success. TV dictates the starting times and the Cowboys vs Tom Brady matchup was too good not to have on Monday Night. The short week is payback for them.

one thing about the Eagles and Hurts last night...
they knew how to play with the lead.
for almost every 2nd half snap...Hurts took the play clock down to 1 or 2 seconds before snapping the ball.

Should be a nice sunny, but cool day down in Santa Clara. Looking forward to a great game. Definitely expect a close game. Most concerned with Pollard; he's explosive.

Last year was frustrating... felt like the 49ers did a ton of grabbing, letting Deebo and the RBs get to the outside frequently. And yet it was the Cowboys that got called for a couple holds after converting key 3rd downs.
If the game is called the same way today Cowboys are in trouble.
It's weird how many times the team that loses the game also has a lot of bad calls against them.

Several of the critical penalties were against a couple knuckleheads that are no longer on the cowboys (Gregory and Connor Williams). I remember Trent Williams consistently getting away with false starting.
I see the yearly complaining over Eric bienemy not getting a head job is taking off.
