Such a wet blanket post…do you sleep with the light on at night?

Robert Woods...
um, he's kind of broken down isn't he?
2023 will be his 11th year in the league

Raiders are happy taking Richardson where they are. He may end up the best of them all. No risk taking the 4th qb in the draft when you have a ton of holes elsewhere. No reason to trade up.

The Bears traded way too early and many of their fans are not happy with the relatively weak return for the top pick. If they pick well, they are still better off than had they taken Anderson or Carter at 1. Anderson may be the next Von Miller but his production vs the best teams this year should be a warning sign. 7 total tackles in 3 games vs Texas Ags, Tennessee and LSU. Von Miller had some of his best games vs the toughest opponents.
Next up, the Raiders who will trade pick 7, their second rounder this year plus a 1 and 2 next year for pick 2. Then the Texans start talking about taking tu RB Robinson at 7. Would the Eagles or Tampa give us a first rounder next year to move up to 7 to take him?
These 2 trades would give the Texans 4 first round picks next year when the QB class may be better. Sign JImmy G, draft best available primarily defense and this team could challenge Jax for the division this year. The tank is over. Time to compete with a weak division and easy schedule.

I'm not happy if I'm a Bears fan. Underwhelming return. Feels like they just wanted to be done with it.
So happy it isn't Indy. Not getting your first choice for QB is bad, but having to then face that QB twice a year for the next decade would have been brutal.
Stroud seems like a better fit with Frank Reich, but who knows? Texans will take either Anderson or Stroud, whichever one is there.
chjoak said:
Soooo... Lets assume Stroud is off the board. We are down to Young or Anderson and when our pick is up Indy calls. They are getting very nervous because one QB is off the board and Young is the only top guy left that they really like. Are you willing to drop back to #4 and if so, what does it take considering they are a division rival and there is a chance you lose out on Anderson as well?

It looks like Carolina is going Stroud, so it'll probably be Young or Anderson

He wasn't brought in to be our #1. He was brought in to be a veteran presence for Metchie, Nico, and whichever WR we draft early this year… and catch a few balls a game out of the slot while he's at it.
Cooks is going to be gone so you need somebody unselfish in that role for a change.
We lost to Bama by 1 play at Bama and should have won. Tennessee and LSU beat Bama. So their 3 biggest games were not good performances by Will Anderson. I agree we weren't good many other saturdays but that day we were and Will had no impact in a close game. The Porkchop Express said:

Right. So might as well not sign anybody, right?redag06 said:Buck Compton said:

He was never a number 1, and never will be. But he's always been #2 to a real number 1 the Texans don't have a true number 1.

When you already have a roster full of #2 receivers, why would you bring in yet another #2? Maybe you draft a true #1.But if you are going with Jimmy G as your qb, a true #1 isn't necessary.Buck Compton said:Right. So might as well not sign anybody, right?redag06 said:Buck Compton said:

I think Quentin Johnston has the potential to be a true no 1. He's big, athletic, and has good hands. I like JSN but the issue with him is that he's been on teams at Ohio State that have so much WR talent it's hard to know how good each individual is. Last year he was with Wilson and Olave, this year he was with Marvin Harrison Jr who is a likely top 5 pick in next year's draft, and JSN had an injury this year. Personally I think Johnston is the only WR worth taking at 12. If he's gone I say o-line or pass rusher.Ryan34 said:redag06 said:When you already have a roster full of #2 receivers, why would you bring in yet another #2? There might not be any true #1s in this draft.
I agree Johnston has the potential, but he's still coming from an offense with limited routes, aka the Briles offense. WRs have been notoriously a flop coming out of that offense, no matter how big and fast they are. That's why JSN and Addison are getting so much play, getting guys early that know how to run proper routes has become big for NFL offenses lately. It's the Cooper Cupp scenario.Max Power said:I think Quentin Johnston has the potential to be a true no 1. He's big, athletic, and has good hands. I will say I'm not normally one who puts much stock in the combine but I'm really fascinated with Nolan Smith. I liked him before, but a guy that size and athletic could be a problem for years to come.

I expect Texans to pursue Arizona DE Zach Allen. New DC Matt Burke was Allen’s D-line coach last season. He’s 26 and got a lot better playing for Burke.
