The refs actually did them a favor at the end, because the ball is supposed to be spotted where the runner starts his slide and they didn't even attempt to do that.

Dumb last play, but officials didn't help, either. Ref should have stopped the clock, then set the ball.

The last play wouldn't have been so terrible if he had gone down much earlier. As executed it was horrible.

Dumb play call but it should have worked. Dak ran too far and the dumb ref didn't even stood still like a statue until Dak was down. Then all of sudden he realizes he has to spot the ball and starts running the 40 as fast as he can. He should have been slow jogging that direction the second Dak passed the line of scrimmage.

Yup... One play like that, and then if that fails another likely against a standard prevent. And hell, if the clock-keeper is your friend maybe you still have 1 second to give it a 3rd heave.

That said, this game was lost well before the final play.
It should have never come down to that in the first place. Why does it seem like the Cowboys are the one who always have something different happen? I've never seen this play called; just ridiculous. So many variables. Why not take two throws to the end zone? Maybe 3?

This was off a 49ers time out to change the defense to protect the sidelines- boy genius runs a qb draw instead of taking the shot - they gave it to him

Agreed. If you're going to play with fire and go down the middle, throw it down the seam and hope lamb or Wilson can make a play.

Yep. they were 6-6 outside of their division and lost at home 4 times. That's inexcusable.
