DB? no way. Revis every bit as good as Lott was.
And USC is out of the picture automatically for not having a HoF at every slot.
When broken down further, Safety is the only position that PITT falls short, as BMX has stated, every other position has a HoF...Fat Bib Fortuna said:

I disagree with your conclusion totally. Andre is a better player because he worked with so much less.Fat Bib Fortuna said:Andre_lefraud_ said:

14 years in the league
1,062 receptions
14,185 yards
70 touchdowns
Led the league in receptions twice
Led the league in yards twice
7 Pro Bowls
2-time All-Pro
Michael
12 years in the league
750 receptions
11,904 yards
65 TD
Never led the league in receptions
Led the league in yards once.
5 Pro Bowls
1-time All-Pro
BUT, 16 career playoff games, 87 receptions, 1,315 yards, 8 TDs.
1992 Super Bowl 6 catches, 114 yards 2 TD
1993 Divisional 9 catches, 126 yards, 1 TD
1994 Divisional 6 catches 111 yards
1994 NFC title game 12 catches 192 yards 2 TD
1995 Divisional 7 catches 100 yards 2 TD
1996 Wild card 8 catches 103 yards
I have a lifelong hatred of the Dallas Cowboys, but those post-season numbers are the reason that Michael Irvin is an all-time elite and Andre Johnson was a really, really good regular season player.
but that's not "every position". He gives one spot to OL, even though there are 5 spots on the line. He gives 2 spots to DL because it's a strength for Pitt to mention a DE and a DT. Even just going with a C, a G, and a T would be more fair_lefraud_ said:When broken down further, Safety is the only position that PITT falls short, as BMX has stated, every other position has a HoF...Fat Bib Fortuna said:

So you're going to punish Irvin for being on a better team? Andre didn't get drafted and sign a 15-year contract to stay with the Texans for his 90% of his career. If he wanted to be on a winner, he could have not signed contract extensions or asked for a trade. He could have walked away after his rookie deal expired in 2008, every team in the league would have gone after him. He signed big extensions in 2007 and 2010. At any point he could have made the decision to find a winner.BigN--00 said:

Irvin played with three other offensive HOF players--Troy Aikman, Emmit Smith, and Larry Allen (four if you count Deion). An argument could be made for Daryl "Moose" Johnston, Jay Novacek, Nate Newton, and Erik Williams (except for that time Reggie White tossed him around like a rag doll) getting into the HOF. And Irvin played with them all for the better part of a decade.
The talent around Andre substantially less, only playing a few years with Schaub, Foster, and a decent O-line. He never had a shot to put up numbers in the playoffs.
So why no guard, center and tackle? Placekicker? Punter? Returnman?BMX Bandit said:
It wasn't "specifically arranged". NFL game has changed so much where it's hard to differentiate between certain DB & DL over eras. (Not sure what that has to do with USC not aging an HoF QB)
"except at the QB position". That's crazy, isn't it? I mean, one of the winningest programs of all time, and you struggle to name a decent NFL QB from that school. Maybe Fields will change that.W said:
