I got your point. My point is with the changes they've made, it does seem like they have taken accountability. You can wish for a public speech or answer, but very few, if any, NFL teams would actually do that.

Houston is a fair weather sports town, on the whole. If they put together an 8-10 season, fans will be right back in the thick of it whether they've publicly "taken accountability" or not.
8-10?

Yes, around break even. Less than that, I don't think being "accountable" or not matters as Houston fans will not be invested. Point is - winning trumps everything, and I think that's their long term bet right now.

What did he say? Tried googling for it, but didn't find anything other than when JJ called Blacklock selfish for getting ejected last year.
Blacklock alluded to someone on the DL that is no longer on the team being selfish. It isn't news that JJ was all about JJ.

Guess he thought there were 2 games added to the schedule not 1 making for a 17 game season.

He is probably still angry about JJ calling him "selfish" last year.

Meant 8-10 win seasons, am well aware there are 17 games. One more over last year to suffer through...

It might take this team the next 3 seasons to win 10 games combined.

How much worse can it get than no posts for 8 hours on a night where the Texans are scrimmaging the Cowboys?

The malaise is amazing. Texans reap what they sow.

I turned it on just in time to watch our safeties collide to drop an easy pick. Just about what I expected

Imagine traveling forward in time from the 2019 Divisional Playoff loss to the Chiefs and seeing that our best two players on offense are Tyrod Taylor and Mark Ingram. You'd think the real team had gone down in a plane crash somewhere.

WARNING - OPTIMISTIC POST ALERT

It's still very early, but I actually like what I see in Davis Mills so far. If the Texans like him going into next season and view him as QB #1, I would like to see them use whatever additional draft picks acquired from a future Watson trade to add offensive pieces around him and solidify the defense. I'd much rather go that route instead of picking a QB like Spencer Rattler in the next draft. A CB like Derek Stingley would be awesome to build the defense around moving forward.

He kind of looked like hot garbage to me. He really couldn't effectively move the ball down the field until the cowboys got all of their starters out. He loves to check down, even on 3rd down (short of the sticks) and he has a very erratic pocket presence. Here is the summary of his 6 drives:

1st half:
6 plays 18 yards
3 plays 6 yards
5 plays 2 yards

2nd half:
4 plays 25 yards
4 plays 0 yards
8 plays 44 yards (38 yard field goal)

He only completed 2 throws over 10 yards and produced 4 total first downs over 2.5 quarters. I'd say his current ceiling is Brock Osweiler....so in that case I definitely see him as the Texans #1 next year.

I thought he looked alright. Not close to being ready to start and also not a lost cause. He hasn't played a lot of football and it shows.

If Caserio is a real GM he won't let taking Mills in the 3rd round get in the way of taking another QB next year.

Taking Mills in the 3rd was a huge reach.

I'm currently also of the mindset that they should focus on defense. Perhaps I'm in the minority but I haven't seen enough out of Rattler to put him in the no. 1 overall pick category. Maybe he has a great season and I change my mind, but to me the only 2 guys that are in the running for no. 1 pick are Stingley and Kayvon Thibodeaux. I also don't think we currently have the offensive personnel to do any favors for a qb that gets picked that high. And we still have no idea how this Watson situation pans out.

Right now I like Stingley the best. I think you can put him on an island day 1. Thibodeaux to me is a close second. Houston has never had a true shut down all pro level cb out there. The best cb's we've ever had in franchise history are Jonathan Joseph and Kareem Jackson. I'm just a fan of Stingley, there's just something about him that makes me think he could be a special player.

Wasn't Warring the TE who didn't play football until his junior year because he was a water polo player?

You mean that guy was a bust? Whodda thunk it?

Reminds me of reading all the tu predictions based on their "analysts" glowing practice reports. I have a strong suspicion this team makes hay in the preseason then comes crashing back to earth rather violently in the regular season.

Remember the 0-16 Detroit Lions were 4-0 in the preseason that year.

Watson made the Top 100 list. The NFL made a hilariously uncomfortable video.
