The case against the NFL is thin, for now. I can't imagine this type of issue is exclusive to Deshaun and the Texans. With enough money out there, I'm guessing Buzbee can conjure up enough support to at least cause media waves against the NFL, which may be enough for him to make another payday.

Again, most NFL players have deep enough pockets. Barring some evidence that the NFL was encouraging this, I don't see much civil liability, at least in Texas. Now, would it keep him in the limelight and be a PR success? Possibly. But I don't see a lucrative payday. Not for someone on Buzbee's level.

Surprised they waited this long. Even if Watson's behavior is not criminal, which is yet to be determined, it has become pretty clear that the guy is a creep.

this whole coach and GM search and Deshaun's unhappiness turned to Deshaun civil suits and criminal investigation so quickly, we haven't even had time to start an official Houston Texans 2021 Draft thread or 2021 Season thread yet... and it's April!

Has anyone else reconsidered whether the whole "dissatisfaction" and public trashing of the org by Watson was an excuse to distract/divert from this potentially coming down the pike?

I think they're mutually exclusive, but timing is a little fishy.
