Third and final team. 10 team league. PPR. I picked from the 8 slot.
QB: Dak
RB: Dalvin Cook, Kenyan Drake, Austin Ekeler, Chase Edmonds, Alexander Mattison
WR: Calvin Ridley, Tyler Lockett, Will Fuller V, Sterling Shepard, Julian Edelman, Debo Samuel
TE: Tyler Higbee
K: Yunghoe Koo
D/ST: Eagles

Couldn't pass up Ekeler in the third. WR setup isn't the best, but I truly believe Ridley will be a fringe WR1 and the other guys have potential.

As long as Julio is in ATL, he'll be WR1. I assume to went 3 RBS first 3 Rounds?

Great roster for a 15 team league. The RBs looked dicey, until I saw you only have to start 1. Hopefully Drake and Bell can be serviceable for you.

I like D.J. Moore as the WR2.

the Carolina defense sustained another major injury yesterday and projects to be one of the worst in the league. Lots of second half passing

Question on 12+ team leagues...

My work league expanded from 12 to 14 this year..
I've never been in a 14 team league before, so not sure what to expect.

I tend to load up on RBs first, the WR's...and wait on QBs till 5-7 rounds.
Is this still the standard, or would you change strategy up a bit?
Obviously in regards to QB, you react to how the draft flows as you run out of options quick once that ice is broken.

Any tips from those that have?

one reason to start RB/RB in a 12-team league...it will also start the panic run on RB's.

for example...12-team league and let's say your picking last at #12 & #13.

if you take 2 of Chubb / Jacobs / Drake / A. Jones, et al...,

then as the draft is coming back to you in the 3rd round (toward your #36 & #37 picks), owners will be reaching for Ingram, Taylor, Mostert, Le'Veon, David Johnson and so forth.

and thus pushing a nice group of WR's like A.Rob, JuJu, OBjr, Amari, D.J. Moore, et al...to your picks

can you say the same about a 14 team league?

Our scoring is:
- PPR
- Passing 1 for 25 yards
- Rushing 1 for 10 yards
- Receiving 1 for 10 yards

It's set up to get more points at QB and WR.

Honestly, I've had Mahomes the last two years and won the championship both years. So I just decided that maybe fate loves the combination of Mahomes and me and decided to pick him at #2. While this isn't an outlandish reach for my type of league, as Lamar went 5 and Dak went 10, if I had my life on winning this league I probably wouldn't have done it. But I've just had so much fun watching and rooting for Mahomes the past two years that I decided why not. I would advise waiting on a QB as the position is just so deep this year. For example, Aaron Rodgers and Matt Stafford were drafted as backup qbs. However, if Kyler or Dak fall into your lap in the 6th round or maybe even the 5th, I wouldn't hesitate to grab one of them. An mvp level qb can carry your team to a championship, as Mahomes did for me two years ago, and Kyler and Dak both have that kinda potential. But it is honestly up to you and who you believe will be great for your team.

if M. Thomas and Adams somehow make it to the end of the 1st round in a 12-team league, I would not start RB/RB.

but if the best WR's available are among Julio, Hopkins, and Tyreek; I would take my chances with the targets coming to JuJu, A.Rob, and D.J. Moore.

of course some of this depends on non-PPR vs. 1/2 PPR vs. 1 PPR

anyone else have as many complete lotto fliers on their bench?

12 team standard:
QB: Watson
RB(2): Mixon, MGordon, Fournette, Kerryon, JJackson
WR(3): Thomas, Amari, Ruggs, Reagor, Perriman, Jefferson, Josh Gordon(lol)
1 Flex
TE: Gronk
Zuerlein/49ers

I might have zero depth for several wks or more without early waiver action

Here's the good news. If you're in a 15-team league and you somehow walked away with Mahomes, D-Hop, and the Drake - the other guys in your league are idiots. Start fleecing them for one-sided trades immediately.

10 team, PPR league. Bonus points for 300 yds passing, 100 yds rushing/receiving, Had the #1 pick for the first time i think ever. Yahoo draft ratings gave me a C but i felt i came away pretty solid. WR is my weak spot but i think RB makes up for it. Thoughts?

QB(1)- K Murray

RB(2) - CMC, J Jacobs

WR(2) - AJ Brown, R Woods

TE(1)- Engram

Flex(1)- A Jones

K-J Elliot

DST-Saints

Bench - Marq, Brown, J. Howard, D Singletary, W Fuller, C Kirk, D Goedert

In a full PPR league that size I would've used my 2/3 picks to probably get at least one reliable WR that's a no brain start every week.

That being said I also like drafting best available in a snake and going from there. You're probably okay with the CMC Jacobs Jones trio in that regard.

i agree with you,, but at that point and in the moment i felt like being able to start 3 RB1s was worth it.. at picks 20/21 my options were godwin/kupp/amai/thielen, which i didnt like as much as jacobs/jones. maybe should have gone godwin or kupp instead of jones.

it almost worked for me. allen robinson/golliday/smith-schuster/dj moore were all literally taken in a run just before my picks at 40/41.

yeah, either of our RB situations could very well mask any other issues we may have. i probably have the stronger Flex play but i like your WR situation better and your RB2 is obviously better than mine. will definitely be checking back to see how your team does. if my WR sitaution starts to bite me in the ass, hopefully one of Jones/Jacobs allows me to trade and upgrade there.

seriously though, auction draft? how did Zeke fall to you like that?

12 team, .5 PPR, 1QB 2RB 2WR 1TE 1WRT.

12th pick

QB: Dak
RB: Jacobs, Gurley, Leveon, Zack Moss, Sony Michel, James Robinson (had another QB but took a flyer on another RB)
WR: D. Adams, Juju, AJ Green, Ceedee Lamb, Anthony Miller
TE: Hunter Henry
Def: Tennessee (streaming)
K: Fairbairn

I took too many risks, IMO. Draft was weird. Per ADP Jacobs was my biggest reach though (13th pick)

Yes, our league is a keeper/auction draft. CMC was my keeper then I spent the majority of my money on Zeke! It has worked out well for me in the past. I've gotten to where I really like the auction drafts, anyone can get any player at any time.
You still have to be pretty smart about budget/player value its made our league very competitive across the board.

Quote:

12 Team Standard. 11th pick.

QB - Cam
RB1 - Sanders
RB2 - Moss or Gibson
WR1 - Hill
WR2 - Theilen
TE - Hurst
Flex1 - Ridley
Flex2 - McLaurin

Bench
WR - Fuller, P Campbell, Shenault, Edwards
RB - Henderson

I feel fantastic about the WRs. Should have a big edge in the flex spots. Like the value of Cam in the late rounds and I bought big into ATL's passing offense. I expect Hurst to break out somewhat. Gunna need Sanders to stay healthy and just need to one more back to work out.

I wouldn't want to own both of them on the same roster is what I meant....I like to have backs and receivers from different rosters typically. I also am not particularly high on Cooper...there are going to be a lot of mouths to feed through the air.

I wouldn't worry about ADP. Jacobs is going top 10 in most money leagues. He's a top tier talent and it looks like he may get more passing game work to bump his ceiling this season.
Chipotlemonger

Agreed, ADP is not near as important when you're picking early or very late in a snake draft. You have to jump on players you really believe in earlier than their "average" with those setups. Your league he may go 5 early, another league he'll go 5 later, that's why it's just an average, you can justify many times a +/- variance from it.
ElephantRider
How long do you want to ignore this user?

I'm not worried about ADP, I feel great about the Jacobs pick. I was just pointing out that I didn't "reach" on anyone, even though it feels like I did with all the high-risk guys
