Yeah, the home/away **** is awful. But also hating the fact we play them again even after not winning the division. It's ridiculous.

Of the 6 games not determined by our division or NFC divisional rotation, somehow 1 is always the Pats.

It's our year to play the AFC North. Last time we played when we were schedule against their division they came here.

Haven't ever been to a Texans' away. Advice on where to purchase tickets for the 9/9/18 game at the Patriots as soon as they're available.

NFL Ticket Exchange, it's impossible to avoid fees anymore seems like. This will be our 7th year doing a guys weekend for an away game

Amazed that the Texans are on PT 3 times after a 4-12 season. The TV people must think that Watson will make it back.

Way too early predictions, by each quarter of the season. Really a lot of unknowns for us right now, but feel good about the middle of our season after a brutal start. The Indy games 100% ride on if Luck is back and in form, along with health on either side. The Colts were almost as injured as us last year.

The Patriots came to Houston in 2013 & 2015. They made an extra visit to Foxborough in 2016 for a playoff game that had nothing to do with schedule rotation. But still its 4 trips there in 3 years.

Not sure if this has been linked or discussed, but this prediction has us going 11-5

I think we'll beat the Colts @ IND with it that early in the year. They'll be starting an extremely rusty Luck, Brisset, or possibly draft someone

I actually like the idea of playing New England right from the jump instead of mid-to-late season. Especially now that we will have quite a few changes in personnel on both sides of the ball.

That prediction is by Sarah Barshop who covers the Texans, not exactly an independent prediction. But if Watt and Watson are healthy there is a lot of potential.

If you end up going, remember Foxboro is a bit of a drive outside of Boston. You can purchase a ticket for a tour bus that picks up/drops off downtown and you can bring your cooler and drink on the bus.

There's a 3 year rotation for home/away between teams created during the 2002 realignment.

If you felt so inclined, you can figure out the Texans schedule for 2030 and whether the game will be home or away for 14 of 16 opponents.

2019 Home games:

Denver, Oakland, Atlanta, Carolina, Jacksonville, Tennessee, Indy, (AFC East team)

2019 Away games:

Kansas City, San Diego, New Orleans, Tampa Bay, Jacksonville, Tennessee, Indy, (AFC North team)

I agree with this. Patriots usually get on a roll late in the season... and they are going to have a lot of new faces. I think we win that game.

I don't think I have seen a healthy and dominant JJ since the end of the 2015 season. I want to believe that JJ will return to his former greatness, but we really don't have any evidence that it will happen. Back and knee injuries don't tend to magically vanish without a trace.

I think much of this depends on how the organization handles his playing time. It might be wise to play him less overall and try to preserve his career. I'm not sure he is going to last the entire season playing all 3 downs.

Yeah, no reason to expect an older, more banged up version of JJ will be as good as the one we saw a few years ago. However now with Mercilus and a peak Clowney on the field, JJ should see fewer double teams so hopefully he'll be nearly as productive

We say that, but Clowney has had his best production when JJ has been out, which is weird.

Wow, didn't realize how many people here would want Dez. I think he's washed and can't create separation. You'd have to have a special role for him in the the slot -- something similar to what Arizona was doing with Fitzgerald. Don't think he can line up on the outside anymore. I'd personally pass.

To be fair Hop doesn't really create any separation either. As a big physical WR like Dez (and DHop) he doesn't need to create separation. He just needs the QB to throw him the ball and let him use his body and strength to go get it.

But that's also why I'm against a Dez signing. They already have that type of WR on the team and he's better and less drama filled than Dez.
