..that Jerry does not give away our 2nd rounder (unless we're trading for a proven veteran in return).

i'll be sick if he uses the 2nd rounder to move up in the 1st.

theres just too damn much depth and too many good player in this draft to not have a 2nd round draft pick. i really think that there are at least about 55 players who will come right in this year and make a contribution, and maybe even as many as 100-120 players.

the Cowboys can get 2 great players in the first 2 rounds..i hope Jerry sees that.

teams are built in the 2nd and 3rd rounds, IMO.

I have never been a big fan of teams wasting those rounds to move up real high in the first.

Agree.

We have too many holes to fill this year to go for one home run on day 1 and then sit on our hands.

If I thought our first rounder was worth a 2nd + 3rd/4th I would trade down. Especially this year.

That's all true, but let's not forget the beauty in having the 2nd round tomorrow is that gives teams time to make moves to get those picks back.

I could see JJ using someone like Spears and a pick next year to get back into the 2nd round overnight.

In spite of all the trade up for Dez/Thomas talk, I have a feeling they end up trading down, and picking up S, OT, and something else in the 2nd-3rds.

It would be nice if they could trade Martellus and Barbie for picks.

I wouldn't mind seeing this guy playing with Jenkins again.

I figured this was going to say something like:

...Jerry Jones is passed out in the back of a limo without a cell phone after the binger of his life...hopefully he comes to around Sunday.

The Goose thinks the Cowboys really want Dex Bryant. We will see.

Do yourself a favor, and listen to Norm and ignore the ESPN bozoos.

Barber & Spears aren't going to get them anything near the 2nd or 3rd round. Bennett is a stretch to warrant that too at this point. (I don't believe the Bengals 1st round rumors). Denver just got a 5th rounder for Scheffler AND a 7th round pick & Scheffler is twice the threat in the passing game that Bennett is. Again, blocking is nice, but NFL TE's make their money & get their value in what they do in the passing game.

But they just don't throw the ball to Money B. Throw the ball high and no one can get it from him.

Of course, he has to run a fade when a fade is thrown!

I only want to move up for Dez if he falls up to the 20s, for our 1st and a pick next year. Unless we get a great OT, I'd hope we move down.

Its no secret that the Browns like McCoy, he fits great in their system, and the Browns have plenty of early picks to entice Jerry to move down. Cleveland has a 1, 2, and three 3rd rounders.

Cowboys give up their 28th for the 38th and 85th
660 for 520 and 165

Use the extra picks (Two 2's and Two 3's -- 38th, 59th, 85th 90th) and take a OT (Saffold, Brown, Ducasse) Safety (Morgan Burnett, Nate Allen), and WR (Benn, Tate, D. Williams, Lafell, Shipley). That's a great draft for me.

A safety starter/backup for Alan Ball/Hamlin, Slot Receiver, and Depth for the OT position

i really like Duccase..if he's there when the Cowboys pick in round 2 they'd be fools not to take him.

Yeah I agree.

Here's an interesting tidbit
quote:

If the Cowboys stand pat at No. 27, that brings a player like cornerback Devin McCourty into play.

McCourty is ranked higher than safeties like Nate Allen, Morgan Burnett and Taylor Mays and will be a bigger priority if he there on the board.

According to a Cowboys source, Allen, Burnett and Mays are all ranked about the same. They would be happy with either one and it could happen with a trade down.

why? Next year's WR class is going to be absolutely filthy, and the Cowboys could get a great WR in the high 20's(assuming they make the playoffs) next year.

Don't reach just to get a project with top 10 ability.

I've been pumping Dez on this board for for a few years. I agree he could be the next Randy Moss(character causes him to fall and he destroys in the league).

However, there is one difference. Moss isn't as literally dumb as Dez is. All the rumors about the OK St coaches lining him up on their side of the field so they could tell him what to do because he couldn't read their stupid signs, not being able to grasp any type of playbook, etc.

Moss was able to do that. He's just stupid off the field. Dez might be a confused WR on and off the field his whole career.

Then again...he might wise up and use his god-given abilities to dominate in the league.

My point is...with juniors to be like Jones, Green, Fuller, Broyles, etc.(not even mentioning the top senior WR's) the boys will be in great shape to take a very talented WR next year, without all the baggage, and not have to waste any picks.

In this draft...if I'm the Cowboys, I entertain offers to add picks for players like MartyB and Carpenter, but I don't give up any picks...at least anything before R5.

.02 from a Steelers fan.

I will be absolutely shocked if Jerry moves up. If Dez falls to 27, that's one thing, but I consider that extremely remote(captain obvious for sure)

If anything, draft grades after the top 10 or so are all bunched together until you get into the mid 30's...or so i've read/heard a bunch of "experts" say.

If Jerry makes a pick today, I bet it's a corner or a dlineman they love, otherwise it's trade out and get the same grade out of two second rounders as you would out of a first and second.
