The firm I work for is looking to hire a couple of employees.

It is a mid-size environmental consulting firm. We work with environmental compliance, air and storm water permitting, and investigation and remediation.

I've been here about 2 months (right in the middle of reporting season). It's a good work environment (my wife has worked here for 5 years; our boss recruited me due to my environmental background) and has great benefits.

I know at least 1 position will be similar to what I do. We have a couple other openings as well.

Just curious for the future. I have an Atmospheric Sciences degree with TAMU and am a Meteorologist in the Air Force for the last 13 years. Are these types of jobs something I would be a good fit for?

For our specific firm, probably yes, since we do air permitting.

Yeah, I will, although I don't work at this firm any longer. My wife still does, though.

With that degree and experience, you might be a good fit for air modeling and permitting.

Even with no permitting experience?

Yes. Also, your military background might make you a great fit for a company that does federal/DOD work.
