CPA firm in Plano, Texas is seeking a Senior Tax Accountant to join our team. We're
looking for someone with 3-4 years of prior experience working for a small/medium CPA
firm. Our ideal candidate will have both accounting and tax experience. We specialize in
Dental clients, so a background in dental accounting and consulting would be helpful
but not essential.
We're a full-service CPA firm. We work with dentists, orthodontists, and oral surgeons
who want to move to the next level. We are very proactive in providing them with
proven solutions that increase profit margins and reduce taxes.
How You'll Contribute:
- Prepare business returns and finish/review associated personal returns.
- Manage high-level review of clients' QuickBooks to issue monthly statements.
- Assist bookkeeper with any issues with clients' books - e.g., new client's setup or
help in clean-up to get current.
- As statements are reviewed/completed, update a tax estimate excel sheet.
- Handle special projects/questions from clients (IRS tax or payroll notices, general
tax or financial questions, amended returns, etc.).
- Bring to the owner's attention anything that needs to be discussed with clients
and give the owner an overview for when he meets with clients.
What You'll Bring:
- 3-4 years of experience in financial statement preparation.
- 3 years of Tax experience is a plus with an in-depth knowledge of sole owner S-
Corporations and tax basis issues.
- Degree in Accounting
- CPA certification
- Dental accounting experience and consulting would be a major plus
- Ideally, experience with the software we use - Ultra Tax, QuickBooks online,
QuickBooks online payroll, and Gusto payroll.
- Excellent attention to detail and strong organizational skills
- Display excellent written and verbal communication skills e.g., the ability to
talk to clients about numbers in a way they can understand.
- Ability to manage and complete projects within the timeframes and deadlines
established.
- Honesty and being ethical with the owner, to the company and for/with the
clients.
- Pleasant personality and ability to work well with other team members and
clients.
