OU does a GREAT job of marketing their admissions process, all around. Their mailers, swag, etc. is top notch. Their semi-new school president is also impressive. I can totally see how a TX high schooler would find the interest from OU compelling.

My son was accepted to OU and A&M. He applied to OU because he needed to apply to 5 schools with NROTC for the NTOTC scholarship application. OU has very good PR for admissions.

No. He did submit application on 8/1. He is top 10% with a 1500 SAT and a 790 math score.

His brother is going through holistic review. Hope to hear sooner rather than later. January is a LONG way off and that's the early side of most holistic reviews.

January for holistic reviews? I thought it would be November or December.

Holistic reviews run through mid-to-late January. After that, admission options are Blinn Team or the Summer Bridge Program.

Just saw that AIS updated this morning and it is showing his major as engineering now.

Dr Wong:I heard that eally good holistic reviews might hear before January if they applied early. Kids who were not top 10% but who had really high SAT scores or maybe who are not top 10% but have a great grades, good SAT scores, and something else that makes them a stand-out.

Holistic review acceptances started trickling out this week.

They usually encourage not to expect anything until January but to check AIS periodically.

It sounds like those are (mostly?) NMSF and really high SAT scores from Reddit.

Does anyone have a rough idea on how long it takes from time of application submission to the time you hear something back from A&M? My son submitted everything via Common App and A&M Portal (including transcript, SAT scores, etc.) about two weeks ago. He is Top 5%, so I was expecting to hear back quickly. Any guesses on how long we should expect?

you can follow the process in his AIS account. once everything goes to "green checkmarks" then the process should be very quick.

My kid is in the same boat as yours.

He applied early to all three schools. I am so happy he's got options.

I'm in a hurry for him to get in because I'd like to have him in on campus housing.
