Howdy,
I am a Texas A&M transfer applicant to Technology Management for Fall 2023 with a 3.71 GPA. I have 14 hours completed and 13 in progress. This past week I received my transfer audit report and immediately after that was denied without review for either under a 2.5 GPA or under 24 hours, but have the chance to be reevaluated with spring grades. Here's the thing:
I made sure to follow the transfer course sheets for required courses, being 2 specific math courses and 2 core life and physical science courses. For my first semester, I registered for one of the math courses and one of the core life and physical science courses offered at my institution. I received an A in the math course and a B in the science course. I also registered for the other math and science course for this current spring semester and am almost finished with them.
On my transfer audit, the first science course I took is marked as "transfer by title only" with no equivalent course at A&M. I read mostly that, with a transfer status like this on a course, it typically means you won't get credit for it other than the hours applied toward an elective or something.
With this information in mind, I am wondering if A&M counted this course as credit applied towards my core science. Although A&M doesn't have an equivalent course, it is an approved core curriculum course at my institution. I read online that core courses are required to be transferred for their perspective component area regardless of the offerings at either institution. Can someone tell me if this is true and if I will be credited for the science credit in this area?
I worry because I am very interested in attending A&M. The level of education that is offered is amazing and I want to be apart of it so bad. I feel like I am overthinking this whole situation but I speculate it may not be considered credit towards my science because a few of my friends applied to TCMG as well but didn't get decisions until a month later. They said that they were actually reviewed by the college of engineering where as in my case I was immediately denied without review right after I got my audit.
I really appreciate anyone's input on my situation and what I should do about it. I am trying to get this cleared up ASAP, because if my science credit wasn't actually accounted for but it can be, then I want to fix it before everyone starts submitting spring grades as I feel they are expecting another science from me and will only deny me if they don't see it.
