Today at 4:30 p.m., Brazos County officials announced a shelter-in-place order effective at 9 p.m. Tuesday, March 24, and continuing at least through April 7. Under this order, all but essential businesses are required to operate remotely. That includes The Association of Former Students.

Our team worked through the weekend to prepare an expedited schedule to ship Aggie Rings, but unfortunately, we must delay the shipment of Aggie Rings until after the shelter-in-place order is lifted. Preparing and shipping 6,500 boxes is an enormous task that requires a large group of staff members working collaboratively, and it is simply not possible to perform that work under the new restrictions.

We are deeply sorry that we will be unable to carry out our plan to deliver Aggie Rings at this time. To Aggies, the shipping of Rings is certainly a high priority; however, for the welfare of the public in the midst of a pandemic, other priorities must take precedence. We will follow up with all Ring recipients via email just as soon as we are able to resume the shipping process.

Thank you for your patience and understanding during this unprecedented time for our nation and world. We encourage you to follow the guidance issued by the Centers for Disease Control and your local authorities to slow the spread of COVID-19 to protect your health and the welfare of those around you.

We look forward to commemorating your achievement soon!

Thanks and gig 'em,

The Association of Former Students
