I am not a fan of Paxton, I think he's a terrible candidate.
But, this alone is worth voting for him.

Definitely a stark contrast from the statewide ban that Lt. Gov Dan Patrick single handedly decided for over 30 million texans despite receiving overwhelming input in favor of legalizing.

I agree there are FAR more important issues in our governments, at all levels, but this one is just stupid to keep fighting. It's an unwinnable battle in the first place. Pot is legal in a lot of other states. A lot of it is making its way into Texas from places like Colorado. So yes, they are already smoking their brains out or whatever if they want to.
I also find it hypocritical on multiple points. Conservatives are supposedly on the side of freedom. Most posters in here were rightfully outraged when they wanted to mandate the covid shots. It would be inconsistent to say the govt can't mandate what you put in your body, but it can mandate what you can't put in. I'm not sure how you can defend that logical inconsistency. Another issue is, of course, the alcohol comparison. Can you overindulge on pot? Yes of course you can. But the consequences of overindulging on weed are far less severe. The simultaneous tolerance for legal alcohol while at the same time supporting a ban on pot is yet another major inconsistency.
IMO, conservatives should adopt the sensible approach. And that would be legalization along with restrictions on how it's used. No smoking in public, no impaired driving, etc. Basically, if I do it in my own home and you're never exposed to it then what's the problem?

No, it's pronounced "SeattleAg".
Post something factual and negative about Seattle. If he goes apoplectic and gets enraged that you don't know what you are talking about, it's him.

Absolutely no reason weed shouldn't be legal as long as alcohol is legal. Not a reason to vote for this tool though. Eventually the old liberty-hating "conservatives" will die off.

Drinking a couple beers on your back porch doesn't make the whole block smell like it was sprayed by a skunk.

It just stinks up the entire city whenever you go to a legalized area. Hotels, elevators, sidewalks, every freaking where.
