I mean it is TOTALLY obvious. You are just being intentionally oblivious in missing this nice little Klansman walking around with his human pinata, like they do.

The mental gymnastics involved, just wow.

Even if you accept that the cropped photo has imagery that appears someone is hanging, why does everyone jump to 'black kid being lynched'?
My immediate thought was emo kid that hung herself.

Apparently the Chief Marketing Officer at Converse is black, so if he didn't see a problem with it...
Edit: Or at least was as of May
It's nothing creative. It's Pavlovian. These people have been trained that anyone with light skin holding anything black is racist.Zachary Klement said:
One has to have a very...creative mind to see that and think lynching. What in the world.

There were 4,743 lynchings reported over an 86 year period spanning 1882-1968 which equates to 55 per year. For context, 445,000 black babies were aborted last year.

Between 1882 and 1968, 3,446 blacks and 1,297 whites were lynched.
Since 1968, nearly 100,000 more Whites have lost their lives to Black Murderers than Blacks to White Murderers.
The real epidemic is black on white violence.
Yet all we ever hear about is fake stories like this.
Black on white violence gets zero news coverage.

This feels like 9th grade english class all over again.
- But miss, where does it say that the kids glasses represents rational thinking?
- It's symbolism.
- I don't get it. Seems like the rational kid just happens to wear glasses and that they are in no way related. And if that's what the author meant, why didn't he just say it?
- You just don't GET IT. That's what he meant because that's my interpretation. You got all the symbolism answers wrong. Here's a 50 on your test. Have your mom sign in and bring it back tomorrow.
- Can I sign it and have it symbolize my mom's signature? After all, I'm wearing glasses right now and you aren't.
- Go see the principal.
- <mumbling under my breath as I leave the classroom> She wears glasses too, so I think she's going to be on my side.

To show how old I am. Wearing a pair of black Jack Taylors was a status symbol while playing pickup games.

First it was a rope and a knot, now an abstract image. What next standing next to a tree?
AOC’s narrative about Black People being lynched in America is officially a HOAX. Each of the 10 people she claimed were lynched was investigated and here’s what they found
— Wall Street Apes (@WallStreetApes) September 23, 2026
- 9 were suicide
- 1 was murder by a black perpetrator
ZERO White People involved in any of the cases… pic.twitter.com/lv8umLaYOP

It's almost as if some people are trying way to hard to deny that, in this country white people would hang black people for being black. The same people would not allow the lynched person's family to collect the body, it had to stay hanging in order to 'teach a lesson'. No doubt, it happen in the north and south, but that doesn't erase anything.
The thing about this whole incident I find to be so telling is that Converse markets to the black demographic. It is a significant sector. That means their marketing folks are at least familiar with the demographic. High-level marketing folks signed off on this, as with any ad campaign, so they apparently thought the shock value was higher than what it might cost.
Amazing.

I'm not sure how you look at this and think 'lynching'...it would have never crossed my mind. But they got the Good Good treatment and pulled the Ad.
