Trump"s second term had all the stars lined up. Now rolling into the midterms what have been the results?

A million executive orders signed and very little to NOTHING accomplished that is lasting through the legislative process.

What have they accomplished together? A strong pace to help Trump break 50 trillion in national debt before he leaves office

Trump, Thune, and Johnson are the Republican leaders that have got things where they are today.

How about millions of illegals have been deported? That alone is a tremendous accomplishment.

LMFAO uh no that has not happened.

The DHS reports over 2 million deportations which includes self-deportations. None of which would have happened if Trump didn't turn up the pressure.

Not counted are the untold numbers that have stopped trying to cross which leaves us with an effectively closed border to illegal aliens.

Right. "Self deportations" and "untold number that stopped trying to cross" is the data you are gobbling. Unverifiable numbers. Trumps actual deportations (arresting and physically removing them from the country) are lower than Obama's

You are being deliberately and obviously obtuse.

Trump has been one of the best presidents in history as far securing our border and deporting illegals. A significant number of Obama's numbers were "turn aways". In Trump's case, theu aren't even trying to cross in the first place.

There's plenty of things to criticize Trump for, but not being tough enough on immigration is comparing him to a standard zero presidents could pass.

Literally every US President before Bush was better on immigration than Trump. Like, that's crazy that that you would even say this.

We had net negative immigration in 2025 for the first time since the great depression.

Who are all these amazing presidents on immigratoon you are referring to?

It's crazy that you would make something up thats demonstrably false.

Woah brother who is talking about "net negative immigration"?? Is this a goalpost shift?

Uh.....

Do you understand what net negative immigration means?

It means more people left the country then came in.

Seems pretty germane to a discussion on....um...immigration.

Bro opened me with "You are being deliberately and obviously obtuse" while I am correctly stating that Trump's deportation numbers are bad.

Bro then starts talking about "net negative immigration" even though literally nobody was talking about that. We have 100 million illegals in this country, Trump ran on mass deportations, and his deportation numbers are lower than Obama's.

Hegseth impeachment for what? Lol

Dems want to impeach anyone who checks the boxes of loving America, hating our enemies and possessing the balls to take action.

See the decade of TDS.

Nice spin. Articles of Impeachment against Hegseth were filed by REPUBLICAN Thomas Massie. The way he filed it was going to set a mandatory vote today. Johnson adjourned the House in order to postpone that vote until after the midterms.

REPUBLICANS Thomas Massie.

Yall are leaving out the folks who left on their own. The total number of deportations + voluntary leaves is 3M.

Saw that number in a WSJ article I believe.

If you don't think net migration is a useful metric in determining if a president is tough on immigration I don't think we are speaking the same language or living in the same reality.

Exactly he ran on mass deportations did nothing and used up all his juice on a war for Israel.

He did nothing?

What world are ya'll living in?

I decided to ask Claude how many actual deportations have taken place.

FY2026 runs Oct 1, 2025 Sept 30, 2026. Through mid-July 2026, ICE had carried out more than 350,000 removals, with the total number of deportations so far this fiscal year at 356,389 according to numbers posted by ICE.
At the pace recorded through early April 2026 (about 1,266 removals/day), ICE was on track to exceed 460,000 removals for the full fiscal year which would be well above FY2025's 319,980 total removals and FY2024's 248,739.

Broader administration total (NYT analysis, as of late January 2026)

About 230,000 people deported after being arrested inside the country, plus about 270,000 more at the border, plus roughly 40,000 people who "self-deported" through a stipend program bringing the total to about 540,000 in Trump's first year, which was actually fewer than the last two years of the Biden administration.

Biden let in 20M illegals. Who cares if he deported more.

Low productivity by Congress is a great thing. That means your freedoms haven't been chipped away. Of course, I realize you are a communist and hate freedom so that isn't something you care about.

What Congress should be doing is passing meaningful, quality legislation that actually matters and makes this country stronger. Quantity of bills is meaningless other than it likely screws us in ways we can't see until later.

What numbers are you using to say it isn't happening? Self-deportations are happening and any number you use is 'unverifiable''.

Obama didn't deport big numbers of interior entrenched illegals. His numbers are inflated with border turn aways, but hey, good for him. Glad he did at least that. Trump doesn't have to worry about border turnaways so much because his policies have virtually ceased illegal crossings of any significant number.

While you are pretending nothing is being about the border, you should probably let all those NGO's funding ICE protests they should save their money because nobody is being deported, right?

Hard to pass "quality bills" when they're the weakest legislature ever. Americans really do appreciate the high gas prices, remarkable levels of unsafe foods and their high prices, the incredible levels of self serving corruption from the top, and impossibly expensive insurance and depleting medicaid and medicare. /sarcasm

Maybe this legislature could've done something about any of those, but that's okay. Just call anyone who would like their elected officials to actually work a "communist", I really do appreciate subsidizing their PTO while the rest of us skip meals to pay bills.

It's hard to pass quality bills when you have an active communist takeover of the Democrat Party and a Republican Party who are controlled opposition just waiting out the Democrat Civil War to see how they should operate going forward.

And everything you wrote could be cut and paste under Biden and the Democrats. No idea what conspiracy theory you are pushing with "remarkable levels of unsafe foods". We've had bouts of niche food safety issues forever under every POTUS and Congress.

Obama changed the way deportations were defined. Under Obama, if you presented at the border and were not allowed in, you counted as a deportation. Which is horse*****

You're conflating the House with the Senate. The community note above is in reference to Congress as a whole, whereas the House HAS succeeded in passing a number of good, effective bills. Unfortunately, virtually every bill of substance passed by the House subsequently died in the Senate, thanks to the Dems being totally obstructionist.

The only way to move forward at this point is to either kill the filibuster, or to win 2/3 of the Senate.

So, in reality, that means that the filibuster is desined to die. Question is, who will kill it?

The community notes are wrong.

119th Congress has passed 108 laws to date. You'd need to go all the way back to the 10th Congress of 1807 (Thomas Jefferson was the President) to find a Congress that has passed fewer laws. It's hard to tell exactly how many they passed but as best as I can tell it was more than two but far less than 100.

That's because you are counting resolutions that do nothing as "laws". You can't compare the current Congress passing a resolution to recognize Joe Martinez's contributions to turf management in Des Moines to Congress in 1907 that only passed actual laws

Actually, you did. Just because you don't care that the House was productive and then everything died in the Senate doesn't make Johnsons' statement a lie. Johnson was very successful with what he could control.

Blame for lack of bills passed and signed lies directly on Thune and the Senate.
