This is news from 8/28 (Fri). Trump is on a roll. This is huge!

Background.
H1B means the foreign person getting the visa could work in the US. It used to usually be the husband. What about the wives? They'd sit at home, socialize, volunteer maybe. But idiot Obama wanted to kiss ass and opened it up with an H4 EAD visa in 2015 allowing H1B spouses to work. This opened the floodgates of millions of Indian wives (mainly from Hyderabad) taking up jobs as their networks are strong and everyone would hire their friend's wives, effectively shutting out Americans from the job pool.

Trump is now working reversing it. It isn't final yet, but the wheels are moving and H1B/H4s are running scared. Congress did not put this in so they are not needed to remove it. Why it took so long is anyone's guess.

When this is implemented, H1B spouses have to stop working. That might cause them to leave the country with their H1B spouses or go back to being "stay at home". They may go to school but that is a different process. House prices will crash in H1B rich areas.

Makes you wonder what other BS executive orders Obama and Biden (really Obama) are still active that need to be revoked. You would think they would just revoke all of them and them reinstate the very few that were positive.

I'm sure the next potus will put it back in, but at least for a couple of years it can at least make a needed change.

Executive branch has a lot of power over this stuff, in reality but we also need real legislative changes which is why we must win the mid terms and get a new senate majority leader who will nuke the filibuster (technically schumer would anyway but not for anything good).

The environment is so vitiated against these visas that the next Dem POTUS will not want to take the risk. The few Congressmen who are talking about "we need to open up more" are getting shouted out and the now prefer to shut up. Many have lost already like Raja Krishnamurty of Illinois.

To be honest, I think even most Dems want these visas gone. But they cannot openly say so. So they create some benign ruckus when Trump removes them and then go back to their homes letting Trump have his way.

Social media is very powerful in rallying the troops and no politician wants to risk pissing people off on social media.

Didn't the SC prevent Trump's EO ending DACA that was started by Barry's EO?

I guess 30% chance of more SC tom-foolery on this. But, it needs more visibility.

Now that you mention it, I can see this as one of those issues that might even be forgotten about because it affects so relatively few people.

Plus, even if the economy is better by that election, and I do believe it will be, the talk and push will be to take care of our people first and foremost by both sides, the right more so, of course.

Ironically, John Roberts was the deciding vote that gave executive orders this much power in the first place. The ultimate result is that winning at all costs is now the norm because parties no longer have to work together to pass actual legislation.

Funnily, I don't even remember Obama's 2015 EO about this. Maybe because I wasn't aware of all these visas and because jobs were aplenty so I didnt care. Most were like this.

My question is, why didn't a judge strike it down? Compare with some judge jumping on anything Trump does via EO.

Saw an article a couple of days ago that said Dallas ISD employs over 800 H1b visa holders. That means that someone in the administration pinky-swore that there were no American citizens available and capable of filling any of those jobs.
Huh? Does anyone know an unemployed teacher in North America? What in the actual hell?

There was a revelation on twitter that there is NO requirement that a check be done to find out if an American citizen was available.

It that is true, our pols tricked us.

This was proposed during the first Trump admin too, and the rule never went into effect.
FWIW, not all H4Bs can work. Only those who's spouses have started the process for a Green Card
