Thanks for the heads up, Staff.

Let's try to have civil, thoughtful responses.

What are your understanding of their policy positions?
What are their goals?
What policies do they have versus your counter policy position on same subject?
And serious discussion, Bandit. Lolz.

Here's what it means to me, in a nutshell:
Reviving the American Dream. Being that shining light for the rest of the world.

More detail:
Governance by a moral and ethical people. I'm not talking about failures or sin in one's personal life here. We all have those. I'm talking about honest stewardship in the public sector. Eliminate, as much as possible, government corruption. Eliminate foreign influence.
Releasing the American people, unburdened by excessive regulation and taxation, to purse life, liberty and happiness. Bring back American manufacturing and jobs. As free people we have shown we can dominate.
Physically cleaning up our shared public domain and incarcerate those unwilling to live by our laws.
Eliminate politics in our education system. Get back to reading, writing, arithmetic and real science.

The above forms a solid foundation, in my opinion, for the prosperous advancement of our society.

MAGA means nothing to me other than being a Trump supporter and I LOVE the fact it pisses liberals, commies and socialists off so much.

The latter part is the only reason I'll proudly wear a MAGA hat around

There is no such thing as MAGA. Start with that.

People vote R or they vote D. Some of the ones that voted for him (and would again) voted because he ran as a Republican, some voted because he is Trump, some disagree with some things he supports (but would still vote R) and some agree with everything he does. Who cares.

Its a stupid term because I would assume everyone wants America to be great?

Calling someone MAGA is daft. Its possible to be an R and not like everything he does and still want America to be great.

America has always been great, even under Biden's and Obama's dumb, liberal asses. There is no "again".

Trump is the epitome of "RiNO", as his fiscal policy is liberal (not progressive, mind you). His immigration policy is sound and is "America first" and his foreign policy, pre-Iran, is sound. He's completely goat-****ed Iran, though. He has appointed competent people to lead the various departments and bureaus, for the most part. His constant tweeting is tiresome due to the stupidity of most of it, on its face, even if it "owns the libs"; though I do love his zero ****s to give attitude. Being the most powerful man in the world, and a billionaire to boot, has its perks it seems.

Nope, I'm genuinely curious.

For example, the Hope and Change slogan plus the fundamentally change America thing. I never bought into that. For one, I didn't see anything wrong with Americas fundamentals other than we needed to get back closer to them.

MAGA itself is a campaign marketing slogan, just like Huey Long's "Every Man a King", Johnson's "Great Society", or Reagan's "Morning in America". It signaled the Trump campaign's desire to differentiate itself from the Obama and Biden administrations and a signal that Obama and Biden had been leading the nation in a less great direction.

Substantively, it means whatever Trump wants it to mean to support his decisions.

This.

It was a great idea. Don't agree with one of his policies? Well then you must not want to make America great then do you.

It's a dumb label, that I look forward to disappearing soon.

To me, if someone is "MAGA", it means someone who supports Trump, whether he makes a good decision or bad decision.

However, it's used by people to describe anyone who's not liberal, as a way of dismissing anything they say.

It's hard to have an honest discussion here, because people just say, 'See, this is the problem with MAGA...." about someone who wants to simply talk about the merits of a particular issue.

MAGA to me is two things.

1) It was meant to be a slogan for a wide swath of people to rally around, because who wouldn't want to make America great again? Unfortunately there is a wide swath of people who don't want America to be great who see any attempt to do so as an obstacle in the path of turning us into China or Venezuela.

2) It is a term used by the left to homogenize a non-homogenous population of voters mainly for the purpose of creating a strawman to attack with simplistic arguments that don't apply to most of the non-homogenous population group they are targeting.

Incorrect. Unlike Hope and Change, Trump has actually put his money where his mouth was on changing several policies (not everything he promised, but several) that are better for America than before he came along.

Obama's policies didn't provide any hope or positive change like he promised in his campaign speeches. It was just the growth of govt and enriching himself along with the people that served under him. There was no substance to it.

Even with Trump's shortcomings, many of his policies have at least had the foundation on wanting to make things better for the United States and making the rest of the world pay their fair share for a change.

I have never seen a definition of MAGA. My view of it is supporting traditional values and putting the interests of the USA and its citizens before all other peoples and countries. That also recognizes the fact we haven't done that as federal/state/local governments in a long, long time...thus the word AGAIN.

But that's just my definition...

You would assume wrong.

Also, there is a huge degree of variance on what people consider "great". A whole lot of people think "great" means full government control of everything, universal income, DEI, somehow I owe them something for an act that happened 200 years ago that neither I perpetrated nor they were the victim of, open borders, everybody and their uncle can vote (multiple times at that), essentially zero punishment for criminals, elimination of all LEO's and a host of other things that I find abhorrent.

Great means a wholly different thing to me.

MAGA = Trump supporter. It was his campaign slogan. MAGA represents Trump's populist platform, whether it's actually conservative or not.

However, I'd say that it's now morphed beyond mere populism into whatever Trump wants it to be. He can change his mind on something or go back on something he's previously said and that becomes part of the newly revised MAGA platform.

It's just a campaign slogan to me. I doesn't mean anything. But I've also never considered America not great. I've never been able to honestly look at my life and blame America or the government for my shortcomings. The only people I know that cling to slogans like trumps are the same kind of folks that cling to obamas "yes we can". They have some beef with america or Uncle Sam that they blame their failures on. Personally, America has gotten better literally every year to me, regardless of who was president. Just my outlook. It's just another campaign slogan.

Doesn't mean anything. It's like all other campaign slogans. Just words a politician says to get into office and stay there.

I think anyone who wears fanboy or fangirl memorabilia from a politician is funny though, regardless of which politician they are worshiping (on both sides of the aisle).

Politician paraphernalia falls into the same category as Crocs for me.
