keep intact some semblance of American culture as it used to be before we diluted and polluted it with inferior cultures

I am very curious to know what year you regard as the apex of American culture. This is not trolling. The curiosity is genuine.

I respect your perspective and honestly want to know where you want to go.

80s into the 90s was peak America.

Unfortunately, the accumulation of far-left ideology throughout our cultural and foundational institutions along with the presidency of Obama "fundamentally changed" our country for the worse. We are now seeing the rise of communism in this country as the ultimate outbreak of all of that mind rot stacking up over time. Hopefully, there are enough properly educated people left to fight that off via the voting booth before the left forces violence upon us all.

The Democrats changing their policy plank to being pro-open borders in order to get more votes destroys the integrity of America's melting pot culture. This is part of the far-left ideology rise above - when they shifted their ideology from melting pot to mixed salad and gaslit the populace that all cultures are equal (when they are obviously not) that ultimately led to open borders policy under Biden. An obviously dangerous and degrading policy that destroys the integrity of US institutions and faith in US ideals. It leads to a low trust society as well. See Europe for how their immigration policies have led destroyed formerly high trust cultures.

Then we have "legal" chain migration from countries and cultures who have no desire to assimilate and are just here to extract resources and return them to home countries and/or destroy American ideals in the process.

Mobile phones and computing were not ubiquitous and if you grew up in the 80s and 90s you lived a much simpler life unfettered by constant bombardment of information. The iPhone in 2007 ended that "innocence" with this social media rot we all live under now. Technology innovation is great unless it's not. Mobile phones are a live by the sword; die by the sword tech innovation. That horse is out of the barn and there is no going back from it so now it's a matter of how you mitigate the downsides of it.

The other outcome of that is that we are increasingly becoming a surveillance state which always leads to oppression and loss of freedom. Always on body tracking tech, Flock cameras popping up everywhere overnight, Congress passing 1984 Big Brother technology inside of the Infrastructure Bill so they can be in your car with you at all times, etc.

Just a few things off the top of my head.

So much for the right telling us they're okay with LEGAL immigration. Bunch of hypocrites.

Fake outrage. There's still room for LEGAL immigration.

I too want more of the Ukrainian women the the EU is hoarding…

I'm straight away say that I only want immigration from certain areas.

White and Western and willing to integrate.

Ukraine would have been a great opportunity.

I would just be happy if the tax code and the government didn't discourage large families. If you want to curtail immigration, how about making it less expensive to have children?

I agree that the government does stupid things with the tax code. The fact that saving is taxed, while spending lowers taxes, should tell us that.

But I guess I don't know how they discourage large families. Can you cite examples?

A flat tax would better, with no deductions. Let people make economic decisions without government influence

Seems like the govt
In general does incentivize large families… its just the single baby momma model with no husband in the mix where every new child brings in more aid

Examples...raising the standard deduction so I get a pay cut from itemizing.

- phased out stimulus over a $10,000 income range, even for 6 dependents.

- FAFSA still shows $43K expected family contribution, even with 5 family members in college.

- Can't deduct passive real estate losses if you make over $150K. No exceptions for family size.

- kiddie tax at my highest bracket charged on scholarships that help with housing

- Can't deduct mortgage interest from cash-out refinance if isn't used for home improvement, basically a tax on the best source for low interest college loans, and a penalty for refinancing, even though the new loan is smaller than most first mortgages.

- low child tax credits that phase out too soon.

Probably forgot some...

The people who have lived here for three generations do not produce babies as reliably as the people who arrived here as immigrants. The population will fall without immigration.

You won't have enough people to support the social security Ponzi scheme, unless you import those people.

You're also assuming these immigrants are paying taxes on income. High percentages are receiving welfare.

All of those immigrants would primarily be democratic, vote for the government to tax me heavily because I'm an American, seize the means of production, and ruin the healthcare system. Medicare would become "here's your pill to euthanize yourself". Social security wouldn't exist for Americans anyway and they will find a way to raid private retirement funds because it's "not fair" and throw out some socialist slogan to justify it. They only find you useful if you can be taxed.
